The Solution
I stuggled with this quite a lot. Alt zooms-in, for instance (no idea what zooms out, if anything), but eventually I found Alt-F4 still works. Before that someone whispered (voice 80%) that I had an incoming message and a tiny, tiny window (4k) popped-up with something that looked almost like writing, but smaller. It didn't help. Before that someone and someone else whispered a cut-scene conversation to each other. The game clearly didn't want me to overhear it and I'm too polite to eavesdrop. Whether any of this means anything or helps in any way, I've no idea, because if someone whispered it, I couldn't hear and if they wrote it, it was too tiny to read (eye-test 3 weeks ago, 20/20 vision). Same with any control details. Alt-F4 is your friend.

Not as expected
A virus was detected in the Setup files of X3 reunion, I don't recommend it if you have Norton or MacAfee. 360 total security was able to clean the file and remove the virus. Other than that... Awesome graphics, but rather slow in gameplay progression. Not as simple as Freelancer at all. Recommended for people looking for a pre-warp simulation, long and relaxing type game. Not recommended for people expecting fast action gameplay.
