The lastest update fixed the GOG Version
The latest version added Achievements, added cross-play with Steam players etc- Now its worth buying the GOG Version. Its one of the best Worms games in a long time.

Great game, but without online play
Game is great! Old good worms, just more beautiful with some addons. So, game itself: 5/5. But... You can't play online! Just everyone are playing the Steam version, which uses other multiplayer servers. I repeat: you can't play with Steam players , so servers are empty. When I've wanted to play there was literally no one to play with. Team17 totally failed here. I prefer Gog, but in this situation will be waiting for some discount on Steam and here I will use Refund option. :-(

Worms as it was meant to be
Ever since Worms Armageddon (and perhaps World Party) Worms has been constantly (d)evolving. All the 3D takes on the classic and attempts to bring in groundbreaking features have failed to make the game better and up until now Armageddon was still the go-to game for the Worms experience. Not anymore. Worms WMD goes back to the roots and makes no attempts to change the classic formula. It looks like Worms and plays like Worms, but has better sounds and a smoother look, more capable AI, many new weapons (while retaining the classics) and fun optional features such as tanks and sentry guns. It's the good old worms updated to bar with modern games.

Not DRM-free
Nice game, but requires GOG Galaxy even for LAN and is not compatible to the Steam version, effectively crippling the multiplayer experience.

Don't count on crossplay.
Team17 has mentioned that GOG will not receive an upcoming update relating to modding, due to requiring Steam Workshop support. Not only is this silly (we've been hosting mods for most Worms games for years), it has a major opportunity to break any chance of playing with those on Steam due to unavailability of maps outside of the Workshop. Nice singleplayer game, but unfortunately it runs in the same trend of broken promises WWPR had.
