It's amazing in my opinion. Just eats all my free time and I don't even care.
It's so intricate and full of moving parts. Punishing and rewarding. I just can't say how much I've enjoyed it. I've so much to see still and try new things. Just can't wait.
I think any other city builder I'll try afterwards will just be too simple.
You'll need lots of time for this, even just to grasp the basics.
Good luck
This is the best city builder i have ever played and i played a lot ot them starting first Sim City on Amiga as a kid.
Here you can not only build a city - you can build an entire republic with multiple cities, villages, logistic centers, industry, transportation etc. There's plenty of goods and resources you can import, export or produce.
The game has many systems like electricity, water, sewage, crime - these are also present in other city builders, but here they're very detailed and feel realistic. For example you need to place pumps for your sewage system to work as there's a simulation of pressure inside pipes. And all of those systems can be turned on/off for your custom gameplay.
There's a few premade maps and a possibility to play on randomply generated one.
There are also mods but i didn't try any yet and i don't know if gog version works with them fine. If you love city builders this is a must. I give this game 5/5 and this isn't something i do often.
This game is very detailed and it's a lot of fun getting all the various systems up and running and balancing the various requirements to get your country effectively running itself. My only real gripe is that the tutorial could be better at explaining things / better scripted. But that's far from a game-breaker.
The intricacies of all the systems of this game really did end up fleshed out. Construction requires all the supplies delivered to site as well as the necessary machines and workers. Include systems such as energy, water, waste management, and even seasonal snow removal and you have a game that will stress even seasoned management muscles.
