A few different heroes, everyone with one unique skill and five standart ones, battle for the most victory points. Every turn, you move to another city for an investigation plate and draw a card to make your character stronger until you eventually complete your quests and defeat a few monsters.
The game is pretty simple and we learned everything there is half way through our first round without ever looking at any kind of instruction or tutorial.
But the problem i have with this game, is that you pretty much play for yourself. Even when four heroes walk on the same board, they interact almost never, and that is the sad part.
No option to really hurt other players progress or drop some stones in their way and at least for me, that makes board games interesting. the way this game plays, it plays as a single player racing game.

Have over 50 hours clocked in the game, and it's been tons of fun! I think I've played a grand total of two games against the AI, as I prefer to play as all four characters simultaneously.
The gameplay is fairly similar to some board games I've played; collect X amount of Y and then go to Z with them, encountering all kinds of events and obstacles along the way. The game taking place in the Witcher universe naturally gives it a unique "flavour", though. The fact that all four characters have different strengths and weaknesses (that are based on established lore) adds its own fun factor, as it makes the gameplay a lot more varied.
The board is superbly detailed and has a lot of cool effects when zooming in. Sometimes I like to just look at the pretty art and try to find all the little details and sound effects scattered around.
The music is familiar from at least Witcher 3, so it's high-quality and fits the game.
Online matches turned out to be a lot more advanced than I'd ever have expected. The "action log" that shows everything that players do is excellent! I'm not sure what my exact expectation was, but it certainly was much closer to an "opponent is playing their turn" screen than to the reality of the matter. I also found the chat feature to be a pleasant surprise.
Like any other game, this one isn't free of bugs either. I've mostly encountered bugged achievements, though... there's only one gameplay bug that I can recall running into, and even that is easy to work around.
One last note: it certainly took me several hours to learn all of the game's mechanics. There are so many things that need to be realized, memorized and taken into account, especially when making decisions. But in the end it's more than worth it.
TL;DR: Well worth its price. Highly recommended, even if you only intend to play on your own!
The game is good!
I have spent about 10 hours in the game by now (offline), and played every character. Every character is unique, there are a lot of quests and tasks, and there are many ways to earn victory points. Solving your quests is not a primary goal, but the victory points are. Supporting other players brings you further to the victory too.
AI is somewhat mediocre for me, it could be better and more challenging. Maybe more difficulty settings.
It is a pity, that there are only English and Polish languages. Могли бы и на другие языки перевести, русский добавить. Deutsch wäre auch nicht schlecht.
Anyway, I am glad to have this game in my game collection, and I would recommend it.
Some technical information: I had a repetitive crash while loading an offline autosave. After checking error logs, it seems, that Galaxy.dll (Plugin) makes this trouble, so removing/renaming it helped me.
It's too reliant on luck, and one strategy to winning is far too effective. The games also last too long and the players don't really affect each other very much. For example, when I get a lucky streak and start winning by a landslide, the other players can only hope luck is as kind to them to allow them to catch up to me, but they can't slow me down.
This is very cool game. It looks complicated but after 1-2 game you understand whats going on. Also there is excelent manual in game ( video and writing). Not a lot animations were put in but grapics are very preety. For a board game visuals are great. Sound effects and music were good too. I'he plaied a few board games on pc but this one is might be the best. The in game mechanics put in perfectly. There are 4 different types of play with each charracter but before I continue I have to say about most important thing...
This is one of the most fun board game I've ever played. Its not competetive but feels more like a adventure (as the title says) ussually you try to destroy others in bordgames but not in this. Game world is very hard. You cant just go random. Game is like %40 luck and %60 tactics which is rare for a board game and you have to utilise all of your skills ( just like in witcher)
Sadly there are problems too. They made a good matchmaking sytem, with in-game chat, logs and filtering but the disconnection issues are severe. You can just disconnect from you perfect game and ruin you fun. Also there is one big feature is missing and thats the victory goals.
There is a Victory Point system in game (you get is by defeating monsters and fhinshing side quests) but there is no point to it because you can only win the game by comleating the main quests. Which changes the game compleatly..for bad. It takes the adventure side because you can easly focus compleating 3 main quests and you are done. It also causes imbalance in game and Geralt and Triss are become weak characters. They have to bring the "ment to be" mode aswell.
Also game could use same improvements for offline plays. The AI is "ok" be ause Its playig to get VP there for looks stupid. One another note is there is no slider to adjust AIs speed. It just plays very fast and you dont know what It did at Its turn.
Its a good efford and good final work but I cant recommend for for those want online only.
