Great protagonist, story and puzzles!

I liked this game a lot, even though I don't really care for post-apocalyptic or futuristic settings. But the story was good, voice acting was great and the puzzles were not brain-dead easy or silly cat-mustache moon logic. They all made sense, were not just clicking on things until something works and some really made me pause and think for a while. I am not a fan of pixel art games and especially the character faces were very hard to make out on screen. But at least you got detailed face views during conversation, albeit without moving lips. The ending was a bit rushed and it was overall too short (took me about 10 hours), but that just means I really didn't want the game to end.

Not what I was hoping for

I bought this game because I loved Kathy Rain, but to my surprise it's full of stuff that Kathy successfully avoided. Like boring characters and annoying puzzles. You can influence the character of Vera (protagonist) but whatever you do, she's still just dull and uninteresting with a cliched backstory I never cared about. The game is competent, looks good, sounds good, it's well acted and somewhere there must be a good reason why so many people like it. For me, there never was a moment of magic or emotional connection. Should you buy it? If you like adventure games - probably yes, especially on sale. But if you don't feel engaged after 30 minutes, move on to something else and don't think it will get better.

Good puzzles, but a bit bland

This game is pretty good on the technical level. All of the mechanics are well thought out and useful, and the puzzles are logical. Even puzzles I failed to get and had to look up were logical in retrospect. However, the game falters a little in character design and storytelling. It's not terrible, but kind of bland. I wasn't invested in the main character at all, hence the decisions at the end completely lacked emotional impact for me. Still, a decent point & click adventure. I recommend giving it a try if you like the genre.

AI is the future

The post AI-pocalyptic setting of a city on a raised platform is original and the twists of the story are gripping. I liked interacting with game characters, even though there were only a few of them available every given story day. Your dialogue choices influence the abilities you will get and add some variability to the story, but it still remains fairly linear and you have to solve puzzles in specific sequence. The puzzles are logical, you always know what needs to be done even if you don't understand how. I recommend to read a guide when you get stuck - some puzzles communicate poorly the mechanics of solving them. Voice acting was good, but the graphics and background drawings were mostly meh.

solid adventure title with nice ideas

pros: + different paths and ways to solve puzzles + intriguing world building that makes you want to learn more about the world cons: - the story is a bit anticlimatic... it seems to be building up to something epic but the conclusion is a bit of a letdown - some puzzles are obtuse and hard to figure out on your own... the game could've given more hints
