I have 45 hours on the GOG 1.0 version, ignore the review which calls it upplayable. Zero crashes, minor bugs. They do need to update here as well as Steam, but Dev has already said its in the works.
Game is not a simple casual game, it takes thought, balance, and effort to keep ahead. That said some balancing tweaks around employees would be much appreciated.
Worth the money if you like business tycoon style games, setting, story, and challenge are good.
Currently more click intensive (growing process) than I would ultimately like.
The game is unplayable until there has been an update to resolve the issue with showing code instead of actual sentences, this update has been released on Steam, however it hasn't been released to GOG, as of this review. :(
The game is deeper than You think. It's not only simple "water, cut, water, cut, water, cut, harvest repeat". A lot of funny and interesting mechanics :). Tutorial is maybe a little bit overwhelming but if You like indie gaming with fresh ideas I think You should try this.
Let me start with that i bought this game day one at full price and after the few lackluster updates it got, it is still at the point of after playing the stories there is no replayability,
As after a few updates and 2 stories with a so called sandbox added into the short game it is just really repetative and no fun at all after around an hour.
The devs was mainly focused on steam community forums and asked for updates but that became abandoned once they got the official soundtrack on sale.
I have asked the devs previously on twitter various questions about updates and features and they go un-answered and then I tried something out... I said the soundtrack was awesome and got an instant like and retweet so it shows they just dont care
if you wish to give it a go, i would hold off until its 90% off.
Bought this game not expecting too much, turns out it's much better than the mobile weed-topic tycoon games. Honestly bought it for my wife since she likes any game with this theme. Turns out I like it too. Don't listen to initial negative reviews about bugginess and lack of a patch. For starters I played ~15 hours without any issue with the 1.0 release version. It was also less than a week and the updates hit GOG. This is to be expected at this point, most games get Steam versions updated first then take at least a few days to filter through to GOG versions.
UI can take some time to get used to. Not bad but not good. Lots of small stuff to do, some people bash the simplified chat system but to be honest if it was more complicated it would be wasting your time. Very well made, a few good comedic references, if anything it was funny growing crappy product in trashbags full of dirt so you can sell that smelly ditch-w33d to homeless vagrants. There is no consequence of picking skills either on the legal or illegal side of the skill-tree, just get whatever points you can for both because both sides unlock good skills. It's not a mindless clicker but if you want to watch TV while playing this casually in the background you could.
In the end is this worth $20? Hrmm, I am set to cross that $1-per-hour of fun threshold that many AAA games can't reach. I'd say you could do a lot worse. You can spend more ordering pizza to feed a family once. Speaking for myself I'd say this is not a bad buy at full price and a good buy if you catch it on sale.
