Fear the wolves. They are cold, they are hungry - and they will stop at nothing to survive…
Ragnarok. Legend has it that when the coldest winter descends, the Jotan will return to take their vengeance against the Gods of Asgard. The world is on the road to perdition and the fate of Midgard hangs in the balance. But when the Fire and Frost Giants begin to merge their armies, they encounter the clan of the Ulfung – the Wolves of Midgard. Bloody, but unbowed following the destruction of their village, this notorious band of ostracized Viking warriors are determined to seize their destiny and save the world. As clan chief, you must save Midgard from complete annihilation, and spearhead the charge to vanquish the fiendish creatures of the Fimbulwinter.
Fantasy Meets Norse Mythology - Travel the realms of earthly Midgard, freezing Niflheim and boiling Balheim, either as a fierce Viking warrior or merciless shieldmaiden.
The Deadly Fimbulwinter - Withstand the deathly colds and protect yourself from exposure to nature’s wrath in order to survive.
Tribute To The Gods - Collect blood from fallen enemies and sacrifice it at the altar to gain gifts from the Gods to enhance your powers.

The Art Of Combat - Perfect your skills with each weapon to unlock their true potential, including swords, bows and spell-powered canes.
The Power Of The Gods - Make the abilities of the Gods your own by equipping power-infused amulets, like the Talismans of Thor or Loki. Put your new skills to the test by competing in the Trials of the Gods to earn further rewards.
Teamwork - Team up with a friend and journey to the Shores of Midgard together in an epic two player online co-op mode. Choose between four difficulty levels to suit your skills and talents. Do you dare attempt the unrelenting hardcore mode?
The game is similar to Diablo 3 - you run (even more, straight forward running), you kill mobs, you loot the stuff. The looting system is what makes me sick: I've been playing for 3-4 hours and I still don't understand how item highlighting work (I found the bind in controls options). Another problem is blood pickup. I'm playing dual-wielding guy which as I understand you should just run non-stop: I kill mobs, blood shards drop on top of me but they are not picked up, I do some running then I have to get back to gather the shards. The controls are not so comfortable, console port. But the game is beautiful and well made overall. You probably should better use a controller for playing this game.
The game has a very old-school, stripped down kind of feel to it. Combat is a hair sluggish, but you can dodge everything once you get the timing down, and landing hard-to-use skills well for big mutli-kills or combo streaks is satisfying. It may not be the deepest game, but for the price, there is plenty of fun to be had here.
I do not like the games combat, you move and attack with the mouse which means kiting is always a bit extra tricky, you can move with WASD but that is only the dodging in 4/8 directions.
This game is made for controls and I would never recommend anyone play this game with a mouse and keyboard.
Combat has a lot of the same issue as Diablo-like games, which to me means unplayable, because you constantly have to click on the target to attack, and whenever there is a lot of enemies you have to be lucky to hit the right targets. When facing frost giants it is hard to notice when to time the dodge to skip damage as the frames when damage is taken is very vaguely told, about as vague as the hitboxes for the enemies are.
If you like Diablo-like combat this may be the game for you, it is nice enough in combat to feel okay, but the combat is either to your liking or not. To me it was not.
I just wanted to give my 50 Cents about this Game because of all the Negative Reviews.
I played almost every Arpg on the Market, tons of D2 and over 2k Hours D3,Path of Exile and so on.
As i bought Vikings i got these Games in Mind and it was a huge Mistake,i also think it was pretty Bad Advertisement.
The Game can be compared with these just at 20% id say.
As i first started it i got bored fast and threw it away a Year ago.
Weeks ago i finally gave it another try and played it on Hardcore (Valhalla Mode)
This is where the Game really shines.
You start using the Blacksmith intensely and go raiding alot.
Also you start to see that the Combat isnt your typical Arpg Game.
If you dont use your Roll ability in the right Moments it all can go South pretty fast.
Best Way to go into this Game is to see it as its own Thing.
An ARPG with an interesting premise, but a flawed execution.
The setting, visuals, sounds are quite nice. The environments are good looking and there is a decent emphasis on story here. While it is not groundbreaking, it was still quite pleasing to have, unlike say Torchlight, where it just said go kill X.
Your village (hub) can also be upgraded by collecting resources. While the concept is fun, the progress can seem somewhat slow at times. The skillsets are alright, not hing too fancy. Loot system is somewhat average. You have a certain tier of weapons that suit different playstyles and you upgrade by getting loot of the next tier sets. There are different stats, but it feels kind underwhelming.
Now what makes the game flawed are several things. Firstly, the bugs. I had bugs where I couldnt move items into my storage and they were duplicating themselves, as well as instances where when I wanted to assemble a legendary item, the game froze. I somehow got around those and they are the only ones that come to mind right now, but that was pretty gamebreaking for me.
The combat system is not fliud. You dont feel as you are really hitting enemies, just trigerring hitboxes. You can evade here as well, but the implementation is a mixed bag. I evaded attacks at point black range while I was rolling and sometimes while rolling away the enemy still hits me.
Speaking of enemies, theyre not properly balanced. While there is a decent variety to them, which is nice and keeps the game fresh. Fighting them can be frustrating as some of their mechanics are not fun to play against.
I played this game while listening to different things so it went by quite alright, but if I was solely focusing myself on it, then Im sure I would have gotten tired of it. So if youre not a big fan of ARPGs, skip.
