Vampire Therapist is a narrative adventure in the vein (get it) of What We Do in the Shadows, the horror works of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and Horrible Histories where you play as a reformed bloodsucker helping other vampires find inner peace. 

Take on the role of Sam, a former rootin’, tootin’ Wild West gunslinger who escaped his day-to-day of murder and mayhem and realized, after a hundred years or so, that there’s a whole lot more to unlife than blood, lace, and leather. Dragging himself from the quagmire of the Old West, Sam teams up with a 3000-year-old vampire living in Europe that’s willing to show him the therapy ropes. 



Immerse yourself into this alternate world and meet your clients: self-hating vampires, agoraphobic social media addicts, supernatural narcissists, and victims of centuries-old capitalistic systems. You can’t fix the world, but maybe you can help other vampires accept it.

Vampire Therapist manages to make the rather dry concepts of cognitive behavioral therapy interesting by linking them to interesting characters. I like how the sessions develop and how the game adds new concepts and asks players to find the best ways to use them. The voice acting is good enough to paper over some small issues with the writing.

great read, hardly a game

Vampire Therapist is a bit of a tough sell. On the one hand, the writing and VO work are fantastic, the cast is endearing and the art is quite nice. On the other, the "gameplay" is linear, quite short (at 6-7 hours) and boils down to correctly identifying dysfunctions or clicking your way through two simplistic mini-games. If you want a well-constructed, thoughtful and oftentimes hilarious read, wait until it's on sale (15 bucks is a bit steep for what it offers). But if you're looking for involving gameplay or replay value I'd look elsewhere.

Wildest Game I ever played

I may have blitzed through it but the game is so fun I was ENGROSSED in it. It's both amazing and funny and no joke there were things that were not on my bingo card.

Fantastic game

This game had everything that I wanted in a VN, charming art style, engaging story, spectacular voice acting and just overall a lot of fun to me. The gameplay mechanics were solid and while there are some small mini games, they didn't feel intrusive and you did have the option to skip them if you wanted.
