College humour & weak mechanics

Do you like repetitive jokes about defecation, procreation and bodily fluids and gases? If so, UnEpic is certainly a game for you. Filled to the brim with unfunny cliches and ripping off all possible franchises, it combines an irritating and unlikable protagonist, a boring plot, and tiring grindfest into a game that has, despite its flaws, some merit in playability. The graphics are weak and unconvincing (low quality sprites and textures, some 2.5D effects), the music is surprisingly good, the controls and steering are arguably horrible for a platform game (lack of air control, lag on attacks, absurd pain reactions), and the overall feeling is one of tiredness, repetitiveness and boredom. Still, if you get if for less than $2 (as I did), you will probably spend a dozen or so hours to complete the game (as I did, again)... frankly, I guess that some people can probably enjoy this game, though, if the love the "I farted!" jokes enough. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Worlds greatest Retro RPG Adventure EVER

I'm writing this review because of idiots like RedRagan and jokeusa giving this game one or two stars because they couldn't problem solve their way out of a paper bag. This is a full blown EPIC length RPG / Adventure game, you losers. You will have to spend time looking for secret passages, building weapons and skills to defeat bosses, and yes.. even running quests. This game is HUGE! It's YUGE, actually. even with godly mapping skills, an intellect that would make Einstein embarrassed, and a photographic memory., you will STILL probably have to look something up on the wiki once in a while to find a widget or book or secret passage that is eluding you. Get over it. Stick to the novel games that won't let you make any decisions to change the game, and there by never get lost. The rest of us are going to jump feet first in to any juicy adventure that we can get out grubby mitts on to, and smile joyfully the whole time. :D

Unepic ish Epic

Purchased previously on Gamespot, and it was totally worth my money. It was so good I'm going to repurchase it again on here. Dialogue and story are cliche but a delicious kind of cliche. Combat and the RPG mechanics are easy to work with and enjoyable. Not to mention the bosses are epic... except the 4th boss... I hate the 4th boss. It's a love kind of hate, but if you'll either go insane or look up a guide to beat it. Magic is an interesting system, you collect essence of different types of magic and use them with purchased spells that use the same essence type. But you'll need to focus on conservation to a degree or be prepared to farm if you're going the magi character build. The magic variety is good though, and can help you overcome difficult situations with some forethought. Overall it's a good tribute sort of game, and I'd highly recommend it. Also, don't go into the bathroom without a lighter. Seriously.

Un-epic is... just that

How well named! I stopped caring about the time packs of skeletons over-ran me in the gardens. At that point there had been 2 UN original and boring boss fights and a whole lot of annoying backtracking and respawning. The humour is actually quite offensive. Seriously, a quest where your character screws goblin females? The gameplay is not interesting... whack whack, loot, "go get me this" quests. The respawning monsters hinders the sense of progress A will admit I got a few chuckles out of some of the dialogue, but this does not make a good game.

Great Indie Game

One of my favorite games. The humor is great, The story is sufficient and exploring the castle is a lot of fun. The precision in the jumps is not perfect and sometimes the control does not feel perfect. But when you get used to it, it's fine. There is so much love in this game. 100% recommendation
