Ive been waiting for so long for this but neither story nor the characters can realy convince me. Game starts boring and does not realy pick up. The Bugs dont really matter, but the characters and conversations are poorly designed. To sad, I loved the first part.
The story is interesting and a promising continuation of the story. But it is more of a movie combined with a walking simulator.
The majority of the playtime is walking on a track between two cutscenes with no other actions. The rest is a few find object and quicktime events.
Story wise, The Uncertain: Light at the End is a good sequel to the first game by the same developer. The story writing is pretty good and it backed up by some good voice acting as well, which helps tremendously to bring to life Emily and her fellow survivors. Developer CommonGames have also done a great job with their locations, the graphics are descent and the puzzles fairly straightforward. Altogether, this comes together to be Telltale-like experience a step up in fleshing out the world introduced to us in their original game in The Uncertain series.
There are some minor issues however, such as some text captions not matching the spoken words, or text not translated altogether. Plus, the facial animations are a bit ridged. Hoping the developer follows through on their intention for the third iteration in the series, but no news on this just yet.
This is a slow-paced low-budget poorly optimized adventure game made with the awful Unity engine. I experienced constant frame rate drops throughout no matter what graphical setting. Character models are outdated and movement is stiff and robotic. Player movement also stutters heavily sometimes when strafing side to side. Gameplay is like playing an interactive movie with tediously dull puzzles that thankfully can be skipped. You also cannot remap the controls, there is no way to manually save the game, there are lots of loading screens, dialogue is incredibly boring, and there are no objectives or map so it can be confusing sometimes where to go or what to do. There are also major bugs such as characters' mouths remaining closed while speaking and Russian text that should be in English. I also experienced a graphical glitch during the final section of the game where the screen went completely white. This game also feels like it was more intended for female gamers. I cannot recommend this game at all.
