I first played this game as a kid. It was so long ago that I don't even remember exactly when. I certainly didn't drink beer or smoke pipes yet and in Poland the age of initiation is about 16 for my puberty, so...
Returning to the subject of the game.
This is a great and quite simple strategy game that I like to return to. If you like the atmosphere of medieval fortresses and mass combat, you will definitely find something for yourself.
However, don't count on an extensive economy.
Here, more improvements are more important.

I have been playing this game for many years. I love the challenge of ensuring all buildings and enemies are eliminated. It can be frustrating at times however I enjoy the challenges this game presents. The map randomization is great.
