With every twist of a corridor, every raised gantry over your head, every new floor of towers and dungeons in the Odd Gods’ world, TRI challenges you to think outside the box. By placing anchor points on the walls around you, you’ll create triangular platforms – the TRI of the title – which can be climbed on, walked over and otherwise employed to negotiate the levels ahead. They’ll help you solve puzzles, climb otherwise impossible ascents, reflect light beams and even walk up walls… once you discover how to do it, that is!

I've always had an affinity for FPP games, and here's another one that I can't stop praising.
The atmosphere in the game is great, with music that fits thematically to the world that the game is set in. The puzzles are great, and throughout the game you gain powers that allow you to interact with the world in a progressively more advanced way.
The settings in the game allow for an unlocked framerate, FOV goes up to 120. Having these settings unlocked in a title like this is great, and adds a lot to the experience.
To compare it to a very popular game, I would recommend this title if you liked the Portal series.
When you get the 2nd power in the game, you will know what freedom feels like!
Overall, I liked Tri a lot and had a lot of fun with it! I finished the entire game (without referring to any guides or walkthroughs).
The main mechanic is simple enough and its easy to get a handle on the basics. But in the last half of the game, the puzzles do get quite challenging and really force you to think "out of the box" to win. Many times the solution involves figuring out some element of the game on your own rather than having it explained to you (though there are usually some hints). There is also a lot of trial-and-error involved in placing triangles, especially when reflecting lasers. But as with any good puzzle game, the best part is the reward of figuring out (on your own) how to complete these challenging puzzles. I never found any of the puzzles required to progress to be unfairly difficult (with the possible exception of one puzzle in level 11). They are all very solvable if you take the time to stop and think logically about what the game might be wanting you to do. And if you're stuck, you will probably naturally explore a bit and get some idols as a reward for your efforts!
My main criticism of the game is that the story, while cute, isn't well-integrated in the game. Given that the game is so long, the puzzles take so much mental energy, and the monk's utterances so cryptic, the player forgets what they are trying to do and why. The story is mainly told through cutscenes that come between levels, but these don't make much sense unless you remember *all* of the previous cutscenes (which you likely saw days/weeks ago). There isn't much in the levels itself that remind you of the story, nor are there ever really any new developments or surprises that change things in a major way. So the *only* reason to keep playing is to see the interesting puzzle designs that the devs come up with.
Overall, it's a very good first person puzzle game, but GOG also has some slightly better options like Magrunner: Dark Pulse and Relicta.
I make a point to play a game for a good while before I write a positive review about it. This is the kind of game that made it necessary. When you start, it's alright... a little bit dull in play, but an interesting idea to pull you forward. Before the first half is over, it starts to get pretty good... and then the sewage pipe bursts and shit flies everywhere at about the half-way point. You don't need to finish the game to see the shit-stain it becomes and remains and I don't recommend anyone try to.
Played this during its Alpha stages and highly enjoyed it. Now it's much more polished, it really feels like a complete game. It's definitely a top puzzler, quite difficult and has nice graphics and atmosphere.
The most similar games that I know of are: Portal, Portal 2, The Talos Principle
