The year is 1989 and deep in the sweltering heat of the Mayan jungle, camouflaged among the Inca ruins, Ernesto Cruz catches his breath for a few moments and admires his handiwork, bodies strewn across the temple ruins, as he makes a last gasp effort to board a DEA plane to take him to safety. He never made it home, the tragic victim of an alleged 'overdose’. Two weeks later, Ernesto's son, Ramiro Cruz is hauled out of jail by the DEA to be told his twin brother, Tommy, works for them as an undercover agent and has some new information about their father's death. But, Tommy has had an accident with a hand grenade and now Ramiro must take his brother's place in an undercover operation closing in on the ruthless drug cartel overlord Papa Muerte.
Take control of Ramiro Cruz, a man on a crazy mission through Mexico's drug-fuelled underworld. An amazing combat system keeps the action intense, mixing third person action with an incredible combo system for maximum carnage - and maximum replayability. Hilarious special moves and a huge amount of weaponry makes Total Overdose as frantic and fun an adventure as you could ever hope to find, and a red-hot latin soundtrack fits the action perfectly. This can be the perfect Latino gangsta sandbox game you were looking for all your life!
A rich storyline as it takes you through 18 different environments, from the seedy red light district of Los Toros to the depths of the Mexican desert.
Take down your enemies with a free-style combat and stunt system that gives you more outrageous moves than you can shake a hot chili at.
Meet über-cool characters and take part in missions with a strong whiff of tequila.

First its a very cheap game two it's run on all pc's and if you buy this game i recommend installing Total Overdose widescreen fix and that's all it's very nice and fun game i recommend for everyone!
sometimes short is good, it stops you from outstaying your welcome and papers over the flaws. Which is definitely the case here you run around and shoot things in entertaining ways, then drive around and shoot things. The game play is very much like the GTA vice city but with an added element of fun, it is geared towards entertaining you not gritty realism or the stark depressive nature of GTA. It is perfect little burst of gaming which is intentionally not too difficult so avoiding the repeat cycle of FPS's when you are getting killed constantly before getting to past an arbitrary goal. Buy it you will like it whilst its around.
I remember playing this so long ago and I can't believe steam doesn't have it. I remember I was on the penultimate mission and simply decided to start all over again. I liked the game that much
The game is fun and ran well for me.
Not too much to explain, a cartoonish third person shooter with a focus on stunt shooting mechanics, the story might not be oscar deserving but it´s good for the kind of game it is, good characters, fun jokes.
On the negatives, they way they optimized the game in older systems was by butchering the world with load screens. This can work in games like gta where they split the playground in big areas; but for this game you will have too many of them. It´s specially bad because this world has many streets that lead to nowhere, you have to cross to different areas between missions (some of them with timer) and generally it is not satisfying to explore.
I think having a minimap would have gratly improved the eperience, as there are not as many cool places to explore. Sure there are some power-ups, stunts and points but nothing groundbreaking, however I think it´s still a fun game and it´s worth to play it
Total Overdose is crazy, I remember failing to do many missions, but after a few attemots i got it right, and Boy, you bet I know every single shortcut in the game now, I even found all the pickups all by myself, the map is small, but that's all right, because this game is not mainly for exploration, I mean there are goodies hidden here and there, but the missions is what this game is for, The storyline missions is still a thrill to play, and I have played and completed this game over 5 times I guess. Amazing everything, Amazing missions, sound tracks, charecteres, side quests, etc. Everyone who plays this, will guaranteed enjoy themselves.
