由Cavedog Entertainment首席设计师Chris Taylor主导开发，《横扫千军》是一款即时策略（RTS）游戏。本作最初于1997年9月30日发售，这款游戏同时也是有史以来第一款拥有3D单位与地形的即时策略游戏。游戏拥有两个扩展包：于1998年4月30日推出的《核心危机》，以及于两个月后的1998年6月30日推出的《战斗策略》。在《横扫千军》推出时，当时游戏的最低电脑配置要求还是奔腾100 MHz处理器以及16MB内存。当然那只是针对1997年的电脑规格的要求，现代的设备早已大大超出当时的推荐配置，但考虑到此版游戏使用了更新后的游戏引擎，我们推荐玩家使用达到至少1 GHz处理器以及512MB内存配置的设备来游玩。

Solid RTS
I loved this game when I was a kid, and it holds up fairly well today. I never was that good at the game, but fun nevertheless. There's even resource packs and unofficial patches available that are still begin updated.

Great old-style RTS
Cool RTS, playing in 2020 on FullHD motitor is great! The gameplay is addictive, even despite the age of the game. I definitely recommend everyone who run into strategies from the 90s!

Best RTS until Starcraft II
Total Annihilation this game has been around for around 13 years and I still find my self playing this on a weekly basis. It revolutionized RTS forever by giving complete and utter power for the player. Its story line is solid as a rock while letting you play 2 unique campaigns both could be there own game. Great graphics for its time. Incredible is what I describe it as then and now
