Choose from among three character classes, and venture from the safety of the town of Torchlight into randomly generated dungeon levels, with a huge variety of creepy monsters, endless variations of loot to find, and quests to complete. The endless randomization ensures that you’ll never be playing the same game twice. Just Missing one piece..
Where is the multiplayer!!! The game is a blast but with out the addition of friend its just a diablo single player remake.

More Addictive Than its Successor
Having played both Torchlight and Torchlight II, I find myself drawn back to the former due to its rougher, grittier feel as well as its simplicity. It also has a very extensive mod collection - one that doesn't require a Steam account to access - that enhances its playability and fixes some gripes with the base game. On the whole, Torchlight feels like a highly polished spiritual successor to WildTangent's FATE series, and I would personally recommend giving it a good look even though it is neither the largest nor most groundbreaking ARPG out there. This is the game you want if you're looking for something small and simple but complete.

Doesn't pretend to be more than it is
TL1 is a competent ARPG, a tour de force of the devs. A Diablo 1-lite without the doomsday horror atmosphere, but with many nifty improvements.

Torchlight has old school roots but still feels fresh and current. The game may seem simple but it's still very addictive.
