Tomb Raider: Anniversary retraces Lara Croft's original genre-defining adventure, globe-trotting 3rd person action-adventure in pursuit of the legendary Scion artifact. Using an enhanced 'Tomb Raider: Legend' game engine, the graphics, technology and physics bring Lara's adventure and pursuit of a mystical artifact known only as the Scion right up to today's technology standards and offers gamers a completely new gameplay experience. Re-imagined, Anniversary delivers a dynamic fluidly and fast Lara Croft, massive environments of stunning visuals, intense combat and game pacing, and an enhanced and clarified original story.
Epic Exploration - The lost city of Atlantis and ancient Egyptian pyramids are ripe for discovery: explore every hidden dark crevice and impossible heights; enter into strange, undiscovered lands and solve their deepest, darkest mysteries; open doors to new realms, uncover great rewards and unearth secrets to Lara's past.
Acrobatic Gunplay - Deftly leap around charging enemies while you unleash a hail of bullets from your trademark dual pistols.
Lethal Predators - The wilderness awaits with a wide range of bestial predatorsfrom bats to wolves to bearsready to defend their territory from human encroachment. New and improved AI means that all enemies will exhibit a more diverse behaviour set, providing improved combat challenges for the player.
Supernatural elements are used sparingly to provide a mystical allure around the world, while maintaining the world's grounded core. The awesome T-Rex and intriguing Atlantean centaurs suck you in to the wonderfully intriguing and mysterious world of Tomb Raider.
Death-Defying Environmental Playground - Leap over massive gaps, cling onto rock ledges, and swim through underground tunnels.
Solve the Diabolical Machinery of the Past - seek to outwit the brilliant ancient designers of many epic puzzles and vaults in order to uncover their secrets. Be warned that they do not take kindly to 'meddling', and as such, the price of failure is extreme.

This game would've gotten 4 Stars if not for the few bad glitches in the game. Must enable V-Sync while playing it. Overall this is a good game, better than the original version. The graphics, sound and music are great. The Jumping mechanics were very inconsistent. Sometimes jumping and missing platforms and ledges. However it had its fair share of glitches which really hurt this game. Must workaround a few of them to progress through it. Definitely worth the price.
The game is more pleasant to play than the first remake, maniability is better and more climbing smoother, There is a dodge mechanic marking gun fight less frustrating. There is less of those in this second game, you will mainly do exploration and puzzles.
Never the less, i encountered two bugs that can just stops you from progressing and finishing the game.
I had to do online research and tests things to continue playing.
The first one is in the "Temple of Khamoon", at some point you will need to open a wooden panel with your grappling hook, but you can't hook it. The only way is to go in manual aim mode and then use the hook.
The second one much more harder to resolve. In the level "Obelisk of Khamoon" there is a buggy platform (you can't grab the ledge). After many tries, i found the solution : you have to point your camera to the bottom left, and then make lara jump to the left, and she will grab the platform.
Bosses are also uninteresting and tanky for nothing. The last boss is a pain to fight, mainly due to the dogde window, way too short. You add to that the ragdoll : when you take a hit, you will surely take one ot two more before getting up.
The game isn't steady down the road. Some jump are really hard due to the still approximative maniability. Puzzles are redundants and the male gaze is more present.
The gameplay is cleary improved but still flawed. The game to buggy.
Good graphics and controls. I played all the way through with a game pad. Very smooth game play, no stutters or any issues. The puzzles are very engaging and challenging. The bosses are the only part of the game that I didn't enjoy much. Each boss requires very specific controller button combos to defeat. I have no idea how I was supposed to figure this out. It wasn't a puzzle, just a somewhat random button combo you need to stumble on, I guess. I had to watch a walk through to figure it out. On top of that, once you learn the mystery button combo, the bosses are very easy to beat. There was no real challenge. But, I enjoy Tomb Raider games for the puzzles, not the boss fights. Also, I was not successful in finding many artifacts, so that bit of the game is challenging, if you enjoy that kind of thing. Overall, I really enjoyed this game. The story was good and the cut scenes were used well. It was fun.
