great game but without the dessert and jungle dlc's 4 starts if gog adds the dlc's ill change it to 5 ;)

looking back I have to say its not just an FPS its also an RTS as well having to be tactical depending on your squad planning your attacks carefully if you go lone wolf or run around like a jackass from black ops 2 than don't expect to last long its about tactics and strategy one shot kills for you your team and your enemy's but its not as hard as it sounds its easy to get used to having to be tactical and smart team decisions once your immersed its a hell of a ride one complaint moving backward and side to side is slow and feels clunky and buildings are death traps but the are in real life so its excused other than that its a great war shooter

a tom clancy style story, filled with espionage, conspircy and military action that was always tom clancy unique story style, adding realism and belivable world but ghost recon is a inspired by tom clancy and belive it or not its not a game that isnt based on his novels... even though i havent completed the game im still trying my best tp do my two levels of the game, its a very slow, nerve racking tactical shooter, you must command and control your team to complete your mission this is no run and gun blazing shooter like quake or call of duty nope thats gone, this is a game that puts your fps skills and your tactical skills to the max, in elite mode terrorist, soliders and other criminals are not blind if they see you its instant death and along with your squad, you must be patient to earn your kills, you must be hidden to get your kills you must be quick and silent, your team is armed with the best equipment and weaponary. this gamewill make your nerves break, if you see your soliders die i felt a loss and anger (since my anger issues arent helpful) i felt restarting the whole game and planning out a different route to win, seeing my first mission over i was overwhelemed with happiness, but its not over since they are way more missions more deadly and breaking your mind to the last... it was a refreashing difficult stressing expirence i have ever had in a video game, i want to be better and to progress in this game until i beat it, i love military stuff and the whole aspect of it all and i do love stories of military fiction or non fiction, this was big back in the day and i can totally see why people love these games if your a fan of fps and looking for a stressing nerve racking challenge this is for you, i hope they put dlc for this game and to make the first rainbow six game work properly for windows 10...

Very good game! its a oldie but a goodie. Me and my brother played this is Co-op mod alot and i must say it was quite the challenge! very nice game 5/5. -Craig

Back in the day when GR was new I was already a Rogue Spear fan. that game alone solidified my interest in realistic squad based shooters. I always wanted to play a more special forces/covert ops shooter and there came out Tom Clancy`s Ghost Recon. Compared to Rainbow six, It featured: larger areas, long range combat, ability to go prone, minor RPG elements, grenade and rocket launchers and destroyable enemy vehicles. You could also unlock some pretty interesting characters like the russian female sniper with SVD or a british demolitions guy with L85A1 who looked exactly like the sapper from Commandos series :). Unfortunately you can`t pick your own guns, uniforms and equipment like in Rainbow six. Every character has a few loadout options and that`s it. The squad command system is a bit wonky and could have used more control. Whenever I wanted to go in as 2 teams, the other one usually died. The game is also rather easy and doesn`t force You to use multi squad tactics. I`ve managed to beat the entire campaign on elite difficulty with just one full team in every mission. I just didn`t want guys in the other team dead and the game didn`t give me IMO sufficient squad control tools. I know that hardcore GR fans won`t agree on this, but I liked the AI and squad system from GRAW on PC much better. I`m giving it 4 stars because of the lack of freedom with choosing equipment and the squad control system.
