Enjoyable RPG

A very enjoyable game. The things I like about it are: ・The story, predictable but the characters give it color. ・The combat, easy but interesting ・You can go back to dungeons you have already been to. ・The fact that you have to use multiple characters to beat dungeons faster. ・You can skip dialog if you have already played through it and don't want to be bothered with a certain part of the story. ・Remapping controller can be done in game without the need for a 3rd party control mapper. ・The game can be played in either windowed, borderless or fullscreen, ・Minigames This is one of those games I go back to and play again casually from time to time. Cannot deal, too much cringe and waiting

To make it short - its 10% action and 90% visual novel about bland highschool kids saving the world. Wouldnt be the end of the world if the writing would have any redeeming qualities about it. Even that I could at least endure if the dialog wouldnt drag out so much, this game is riddled with short pauses inbetween spoken lines, movement, loading assets. They add up to quite the bulk of each played hour. This is a low budget game, 60 bucks is ridiculous. Get it on sale if ... if ... hell I dont know, I have a hard time imagening even die hard weebs wouldnt instantly go to a superior alternative. I was drunk when I bought that on sale and regret it more than the hangover afterwards. Pros: - Game is pleasant to look at. Not a stunner but its clean from top to bottom including HUD, general interface and world design. - Voiceacting is good for what it is. - Combat, if youre actually getting around doing some, isnt too bad overall. I could see myself having fun with it under different circumstances. Simple but flashy. - The translator obviously had some fun with this gig. Cons: - The story and its execution is as lame as it gets. If youve seen some magic highschoolers anime from now and then - it is that. Except with ALL the cringe and none of the goof. - If you dont enjoy this super specific type of presentation every bit of the game feels like dragging a cat by a leash. Youre not even the cat since you have to make an effort by pressing one button every 3 seconds. - The camera is lackluster - The controls arent 100% responsive during combat and some animations cannot be interrupted or canceled for a dodge/parry. You could get used that though. My guess is this game follows in some very tight footsteps and thsi style of combat is simply a staple of the niche. - No gud waifus there either. This piece of art either has terrible or stellar reviews. If you think youd like this game, just dont dosh out 60 freakin buckos. Im sure you have options.

Persona style hides something different.

...and not turn based. I can honestly walk away from this title knowing I had a great time overall. Yes, it has it's warts from time to time and honestly even though I expected a slow start, this game turned out a lot different then I expected. But it was still pretty good. My only consideration here is the price. I bought the game on sale and would have a hard time recommending it any other way due to it being a full price release despite showing itself quite clearly to be a port of a game that's been around a while.

Excellent action RPG

Really good game, but extremely dialogue heavy. That may turn off a lot of players, but I personally liked it. Gameplay, graphics and music are all excellent, but the story does seem to get drawn out a bit too long. Personally I could have done without the After Story stuff specific to EX+ as I felt the main game with the epilogue was a satisfying conclusion. Having said that, I felt like nearly all of the characters were quite likeable, with the exception of Yuuki, but even he's not TOO bad. There's a lot of content to enjoy in this game and it's well worth your time. There aren't many games that I've gotten all of the achievements for, but this is one of them if that gives you an idea of how much I liked it.

One of the best RPGs...

This was my first JRPG and I have to say that I was amazed. The story, the characters... everything. A must have!!!
