All is not well in the world of Aden. The Darkfall stains the land with its hellspawn, the mindless horrors only known as nocturnals. Warriors tested by combat and steel ride across battered lands to battle these vile hordes Sneaky rogues and ruthless inquisitors seek out traitors in corrupted cities and towns. Powerful mechamages wield deadly contraptions of steam welded with magic. All of this will be for naught unless a true hero rises and leads the way out of the encroaching darkness!

Thunderscape is a first-person dungeon-crawling RPG filled to the brim with only the most prestigious turn-based combat and real-time exploration. Create and customize a party of six adventurers with 8 races and 11 character classes to choose from. Challenge your intellect and skill as you avoid deadly traps and solve mind-bending puzzles. Thunderscape is a precious jewel in the Strategic Simulations crown and it is our pleasure to bring it to you once more. Will you fight to save the magical and wondrous world of Aden from the Darkfall?

What improvements we made to this game:
1.01 GOG v2 (28 October 2025)
  • Added Cloud Saves support to keep progress safe and synced
  • Introduced a new launcher with DOS sound settings for easier configuration
  • Tweaked the DOSBox setup so the game now fills the screen properly
  • Increased CPU cycles to make gameplay smoother
  • Added two control schemes that can be selected in the Game Configurator
    • Original (Numpad): Keeps the classic control layout unchanged
    • Modern (WASD): Maps movement to WASD, jump to Space, and menu to Esc for a more intuitive setup. The original numpad controls still work, but with this scheme, W, A, S, and D can’t be used when naming saves
  • Fixed the French version by increasing available memory and unbinding the W key, which was accidentally set to quit the game
  • Added the Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall demo as a bonus
  • Added a Game Configurator that lets players adjust fullscreen mode, graphics settings, resolutions, aspect ratio, and CPU cycles
  • Stability validated
  • Fully compatible with Windows 10 and 11

Awful game!

Just bought and played this game today after spending just a couple of bucks. If it blows, no big loss. Played for about 5 minutes before uninstalling it. Terrible graphics, no fun whatsoever. Boring landscape. I love and still play the might and Magic series starting with Isles of Terra III.

Yes, I do remember this title and bought the hype back in it's day. Major disappointment - graphically, gameplay, et al. Recommend a pass on this one, but that's just MHO.
