No way!
This was one game that I thought would never make it to GoG. I'd heard the source code was lost. Seeing it on the list is too good to be true. Thief and its sequel are the last of their kind. Stealth games where each player can find their own path through the sprawling, mazelike levels. Even playing through the game for the tenth time, I was (and am) still discovering new paths and ways to navigate through the game.

It's been 13 years now...
... and this game still blows my mind. I got hooked on the thief series when I played a demo of Thief 2, and I'm still a proud owner of a german Thief Gold CD-release. Bought the GOG-version anyway, so now I can get all nostalgic and listen to the awesome german version, or pick the original English one and enjoy Stephen Russell as the vioce of Garrett (and several other characters from the game). Don't miss this opportunity to buy this gem of a game! And get Thief 2, too!

These games are a treasure
Seriously, I have waited so long for this to come on gog.com or even steam and now my prayers have been answered. This series is one of my favorites in history. One of my favorite things about this series is the variety in the different levels: Sometimes you're going throughout a mansion robbing a rich lord, sometimes you are in a massive cavern or tomb trying to find an ancient artifacts, sometimes a mix of both and so much more. Really there are few games like it. This is the way I would put it: This game is basically a mix of Indiana Jones, Batman, and Robin Hood. Now if only they could release System Shock II on here.

A must-play
Thief is a game that, aside from the sequel, is so utterly unique and influential in the history of game design that not having played it makes you a bad person. Well, a bad gamer anyway. This still fits into my Top 10 (with T2: the Metal Age easily in my Top 5) all time. Everything about the game seems so simple and obvious but when you start replaying the missions you find an unbelievable complexity for what is essentially a remastered shooter. Latter-day games like Borderlands owe this game an enormous debt.

Good Game steep learning curve though
the Father of modern stealth games, it's a fantastic title but a little daunting to get the hang of for first time players. My main problem was literally just getting lost within (which I have no problem with) but the structure of some of these levels are so labyrinthian that the map can be rendered useless at times. So beware if you haven't played these games before, had a blast the mechanics of the game, the ambiance, plot all service the game greatly and for this i highly recommend it
