Spoiled wine.
This game is one of the best games ever made, except it's old and janky and has aged terribly. Ugly and unwieldly, maybe better to watch a playthrough then play it.

Bland
Look at the screenshots. See how generic and bland the game looks? Look at the very first screenshot... someone, somewhere thought that this scene represents Thief 2 so well it deserves to be selected as the first advertising shot. I for one wouldn't buy such a game.

a big disappointment
i was shocked when i tried it - it had no atmosphere and the level design was mostly terrible with big empty locations and warehouses. but most importantly - the mechanists with their robots were absolutely out of place in thief universe. no wonder this game didn't sell and looking glass went down.
