I love this game

to. a degree that may not be healthy Let me explain. One day i was in game stop. I don't play a ton of games. I 'm busy i work at a bit software firm, and i usually get a bit board if I'm honest. I was in game stop this was maybe 2017 and some kid came up to me and asked if i needed some help. I said man you know i like skyrim, dragon age you have any games like that. He looked at me and he said i have just what you need. Handed me witcher 3. I never had heard of Witcher (was in college then starting career when the other two came out). At first i put the game in I remember White Orchard. It took me a bit it takes maybe few hours i think to get into it. Then i went to Novigrad, OMG. Let me just say since then i've read the books and this was basically the only game i've played. I finally just started wither 2 though which is also quite good. I honestly don't know what to tell you here. I've played though this game three times, but to me ti's not a game. I'm almost embarrassed to say it but at this point I'm so invested in these characters they seem real to me. The game took some great books and made them even better. I love all the characters even a lot of the "antagonists". Ok so i thought the main game was good then i played the dlc, it was better. As far as Im concerned they should have a team of people always working on this game and adding content. i would pay for the story to continue. Ok back to the beginning of the story. Some years later maybe 2020 after spending thousands of hours on this game i finally went into gamestop and asked if they had anything as good as the witcher 3. The answer not one time, but two times from different stores is is no "Witcher is a masterpiece" . I agree. THe one bone i will throw to you is please give witcher 2 a try. It's pretty good. It actually is extremely story focused and fills in with a lot of dialog that fills in a lot of things in w-3. What i'm hoping is they decide to do a little more with the universe asap

10 Years after still my no.1

The best game I've ever played so far. A 10/10 masterpiece. It has been 10 years since the release and 9 since I've finished my first playthrough and I still cannot find a game that would beat it. RDR2 was extremely close when it comes to reality and immersion but fell short when it comes to cut scene facial animations (there weren't enough emotions in the cutscenes in my opinion) and gameplay. I truly hope TW4 will be as realistic (extremely strong slavic medieval world foundation with fantasy elements added on top) and immersive as this masterpiece, and that it will have as good facial animations in the cutscenes. I also hope it will have an extremely well written dialogs and characters. We'll see in the future. For now this is the game to beat.

Been around the world twice...

Been around the world twice, talked to everyone once. Learned a lot of lessons in my life... Oh. Sorry, I forgot this was a review. Altough this somewhat makes sense, I've played so many games over the span of my life, and I am going to be one hundred percent honest with you here. This is the best game I have ever played in my life, in every way shape and form. I originally bought this game just about as soon as it came out. I played about ten hours of it, then from then on I neglected in until about two weeks ago. I liked it initially, but just lost interest after those ten hours. I now realize how much I missed out on. I started playing it again when B&W came out, and it his been an experience like no other. First of all, the game/gameplay itself is just fantastic. I have clocked in around 210 hours of it ion Steam and I have not become even remotely bored of it yet. That is a lot coming from me because I cannot get sucked into these big games like I used to when I was younger. The thing that really gets me about this game is the story. For whatever reason I love the family bond between characters in a fictional story like this, and it is near perfected between Geralt and Ciri. The whole game is essentially about Geralt searching for Ciri, and combatting the forces that are chasing her, in an attempt to use her "gift", that is, Elder Blood. I have never seen such a powerful and compelling story in a video game before. Not that I'm surprised, because CDPR has not delivered anything less than a masterpiece as of yet. That said, easily one of my most favorite games of all time. So good that it has blinded me into making a review that is less about the game itself, and more about the absolutely fantastic story/lore behind it. Too many thoughts on why this is an amazing game, can't write anymore. Buy now.

Genuinely don't understand the appeal.

Out of all the games that have been hyped up to be "perfect" games. This has been the most dissapointing game I've played. DId I give it enough of a chance? Maybe not, but as far as I'm concerned if I'm not enjoying the story, let alone this games mediocre at best combat which 90% of people seem to avoid talking about, then I shouldn't need to play it any further. Rating a games story is not my specailty since I rarely enjoy games that focus on story telling. I will say though that this one didn't grab me. None of the characters appealed to me, the story felt almost cliche in nature and it was paced horribly for a game. Now I know this game was centered around story rather than gameplay, but to me a video game should be well a video game, as in you play it, not watch it, which was what I was doing for at least 30 minutes before I even started to control the character and at that point I was already bored and wanted to play something else. Once I finally got into the gameplay side of things I was actually at first surprised at how well combat was animated, but then I realised that the combat was all show. None of my actions felt like they were me doing them, rather it felt like it had a mind of it's own, actions felt slightly delayed and timing things was just really awkward and unfun to do. Not saying the game was "too hard" or "too easy" but it was just unfun. Beyond that, I really couldn't rate this other game elements since at this point I was convinced the game failed to delevier on both its promise of a "good story" and it's base gameplay felt horrible. I tried to explore the world but the world felt like it was designed to not be explored (it's an linear game disguised as an open world). The RPG mechanics in this game seemed bare minimum as well from what I could tell. But as I said I didn't play enough to test it out so I may be wrong about the stuff in this paragraph. One thing I will credit this game for is its graphics, they are very impressive, that is all I have to say. Overall, I'm absolutely in the minority here and I can already hear the hardcore fans with their pitchforks and torches coming over to fight tooth and nail to concinve me that their game is "perfect".

This is A Masterpiece

I played and finished this game on PS4 with the expansions too, now I got it for free on PC. Why the witcher 3 is the best game ever made in my opinion ? 1 - Great story and characters. 2 - multiple Options and choices and endings. 3 - Very good gameplay ( you will get used to it in 2 or 3 hours ). 4 - Awesome side missions with stories and cut-scenes. 5 - Beautiful Open world and smart fast-travel system. 6 - Amazing expansions probably best expansions ever made.
