Mods Needed
I never played the original game so I have nothing to compare it to. I found this enjoyable and replayable on the PC but only with several Mods installed. I found the adut content and the several romance possibilites aided by Mods as a definte plus to making this an enjpyable RPG. I prefered to play this than watch the dreadful Wokified TV series. The only real downside for me was the clunky janky controls on PC.

Excellent non-childish RPG
Possibly the best RPG I ever played (and I played an awful lot of them). Refreshingly far from the usual "me good - you bad - me kill you" teenager-style approach. Good graphics and very good programming too: it runs smoothly on my 2006 PC.

The Witcher
The Witcher is a great game with a great fantasy story. I don't think I would say that the game has aged well, Geralt kinda looks like a frog. The voice acting is a bit sub par at times, and some people might find the combat a bit clunky. But besides those minor issues the game is awesome, it's a great story and a lot of fun from start to finish. How easy it is for Geralt to get laid is kinda ridickulous though. But overall the game is great, the story is entertaining the characters are awesome and reasonably fleshed out, there are a lot of grey choices and the kids in the game don't drive you nuts. So if you can get past how the game looks you're in for a real treat.
