This game is absolutely terrible. Everything bad about AAA RPGs. Terrible presentation and graphics. Nonsensical, ridiculously bad dialogue. Grind grind grind with no variation, dungeons recycled again and again with no apology. Quests have you going back and forth over and over. A game who's sole challenge is memorizing arbitrary alchemy and monster jargon rather than skill or tactical play. It is an absolute miracle that this game garnered good reviews. The next game is much much better, but still guilty in terms of gameplay, which still suffers from the same thing, and in some ways in a far worse way.

I finished the game and here are my thoughts below. Some spoilers for this game. This is my second review of the game (I asked GOG to delete my previous review). What I enjoyed: 1. The story - the game puts the gamer into morally grey situations to deal with racial tensions between men and elves in Temeria. I liked that Siegfried and Yaevinn were portrayed as two extremists depending on your choices. 2. The gameplay - Although the gameplay is old, it is easy to use even on the hardest difficulty and is quite enjoyable. 3. The music fits the game's atmosphere well. 4. The graphics are old, but it does not hurt the experience.

This is the beginning of the brilliance that CDPR had and it shows that they understood exactly what they were going for and what their ultimate goal is and there's so many things that can be noticed here. So first off, the story is unmatched with the amazing chains of events and choices that are presented to the player that will play off in totally unexpected ways with many many beloved characters, some of them might be familiar and some new but all are equally fleshed out and have a ton of personality that they feel like real people. The RPG aspect of the game is passable, not gonna lie, it's not the best in the series or even ever but it gets the job done, the traversing of the game is kind of bad but you get used to it. The music is top notch as with all Witcher games and the combat is simple but there's tons of customization to add more flavor to it. Overall I would recommed this game for Witcher fans who want to go through the whole story after the books.

Everyone told me to just go to The Witcher 3 directly, told me it was "cluncky"(as in old gameplay, bad mecanics, etc...). BUT it is surprisingly dinamic, the alchemy is interesting, and overall I am loving it. I do have mods installed that change textures and makes Geralt move like 16% faster, though it does not change a thing from story nor gameplay. :)

It's a great game, but without the mods to allow meditation anywhere and access to inn chest anywhere, the game get down because of the need to go back on inn and stores to sell the loot and reorganize your items.
