These people don't deserve your money

It's pretty much all in the title. The game was released even though it was not finished. After an underwhelming release Gato Studio basically moved on, removed any trace of that game in Facebook, Twitter, etc... They stopped working on the game and they stopped all communication with the people who backed them on Kickstarter. They never delivered the physical pledges and went silent. This is an unfinished game sold by a studio that scammed its Kickstarter backers.

Great improvement. Give it a try.

The first time I played this game was about one month ago. I backed it in Kickstarter, was eager to try it and... well, disappointment is the word. I spent half an hour in a game full of bugs. Now Gato Studio sent the GOG keys to the backers and I decided to try it again... Man, sensations are totally different! One month ago the bugs made impossible to enjoy the game, now I could play three hours without interruption. I could now focus on the characters (Berath is my favorite), the story, the landscapes... The idea of formations is original and gives the combat a different taste. Waylanders has a lot of potential and there's a lot of talent behind it. Don't get me wrong. The game is not finished yet, and it still needs some work, but the improvement of the game in just one month is noticeable. To me it's the proof that developers are working hard and well.

A full fledged scam

The game is abandoned, after just a few months, the devs are unreachable, but wait, there's more Full of bugs, bad balancing, shallow story, and basically an unfinished game that surely has tarnished the devs reputation

Disgraceful

I backed this on kickstarter. I played less than an hour total. The game is a cartoony mess with poor controls and utterly horrendous voice-acting. The writing is sub-par, the characters are clearly incredibly shallow and unsympathetic. Generally I have played so little, ever, after being so excited during the kickstarter - now a long time ago. This is like if Darkstone, Icewind Dale and Fable had a son who then watered himself down further by having a child with Kingdom Hearts - an ill-begotten progeny who then starts dating the second half of Lionheart. That progeny is this game. Don't buy this game.

Awful game in my opinion.

I found Waylanders to be a convoluted mess of a game with cartoony Ninendo Switch like graphics, consistent frame rate drops no matter what graphical settings, and dull gameplay forwarding through numerous dull cutscenes with dull dialogue choices. You also must use a controller because using the keyboard results in extremely choppy movement with your character. However, the worst part for me was the terrible combat system that involves pausing the screen and using a number of a combination of controls to set up numerous formations and abilities and then when you engage the enemy you just sit back and watch while your characters do everything. You don't even have to move your character to the next enemy because they automatically do that on their own. Overall, I did not find this game to be an enjoyable experience. I would rather play better games.
