Great narrative, complex characters
It's not AAA and it shows, but it really does not matter. The actual decision-making and narrative are stellar. The world-building and the historic dive into the 1905 revolution-era Warsaw are fantastic.

A Gothic Dream- or Nightmare?
The Thaumaturge is a gorgeous game with beautiful effects, realistic environments, and tactical turn-based fighting. I find the story being woven to be thoroughly intruiging, and even the sidestories pull me in.

The game has a good gameplay and history. Some of the voice acting is not realy good, but they tend not to be long.

Good idea, bad execution
I like the premise and story that this game has, but the game is just incredibly boring and repetitive. Combat is not fun, the game consists of walking around areas over and over again scanning for "clues." It gets old after a few hours.
