Simply does not start
Game info page wrongly informs, that this game works on Win10. It doesnt, at least not "out of the box" Shame on you gog Do not buy

Just as good as I remember
Work just fine on a Win 10 PC, almost didn't get it because of a few others who said they had issues in the reviews. Very glad I got it anyway and that it works perfectly. As the last Settlers game before the introduction of the more complicated mechanics this is a great game to while away the time and I highly reccomend it to any fans of the series or city-builders.

Works on win 10 now, praise the sun ...
FINALY !! Praise the GOG for making this game finally work under win 10. Its low rez, its not 2018 experience but it works and that's awesome. One of the last "real" settlers game. I'm pretty sure its worth trying.

Love this game
So I have 64-bit Windows 11, NVIDIA GEFORCE, and it took me a while to get the game to work. I will post what I did, in case it helps others (and in case i ever have to reinstall it myself :D). I updated (via notepad) the files per nikale21's post (steps 4 & 5), but I did not do the DXGL install; instead I did the following: Added the 3 files from the following link into the game's exe folder: https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/wiki/The-Settlers-IV (you can also put the editor files from the above github link into the editor folder to fix that as well) Then added the 5 files for WidescreenFix.zip from the following link into the game's exe folder: https://github.com/zocker-160/Settlers-IV-Patches/releases Many thanks to those who have helped create/update these files to make gameplay possible in 2024!
