Also the french, german and english version have good voice acting, like seriously, for 2001 it is impressive.
the only way to describe this game is in song:
Halligan's life was pretty drab
Racking up debt with a pizza tab
Then his life got flipped around
When they found the bones on the hollow ground
It's the Mystery of the Droods, they all have an attitude
It's the Mystery of the Droods, they all have an attitude
Lowery was blessed with dashing looks
Got all the girls with all his books
He couldn't care less about the quest for killers
Still Halligan still came and swiped the scissors
It's the Mystery of the Droods, they all have an attitude
It's the Mystery of the Droods, they all have an attitude
The Droods are coming
The Droods are scary
The Scotland Yard is getting wary
But Halligan coming to solve the quarrel
No matter how ILLEGAL, CORRUPT, or IMMORAL
It's the Mystery of the Droods, they all have an attitude
It's the Mystery of the Droods, they all have an attitude
It's the Mystery of the Droooooods, a mystery for me and you
It's the Mystery of the Droooooods, a mystery for me and you
SHORT VERSION AT THE BOTTOM.
I honestly can't tell you much about the game. Don't ruin yourself with spoilers.
Halligan alone makes this game worth buying. Remember that one dev who complained that people didn't buy his game because "they hate playing as someone who isn't good"? Well they're wrong. Halligan goes from 0 to 100 real fast, and he's easily one of the most chaotic stupid characters out there. There's a point in the game where all bets are off as to what he's capable of.
The game as a whole is bit of a jab at the point-and-click adventure genre. Halligan's behavior from an outside perspective makes him seem like a madman. He constantly picks up random garbage and goes off on insane, illogical tangents that somehow lead him to the answer. And yet the man can't make a phone call, or buy some salt for his work.
Aside from that, the characters are all well-established, and have great voice acting. The graphics are obviously dated, but that comes with the age that it has and being in 3D.
TL;DR ; If you want something completely off the wall, get this. It's hilarious, dramatic, and entertaining overall.
I LOVE Mystery of the Druids. This game intentionally is crafted to be bad, and is cited to be inspired on B-movies. It looks horrible for its time, but this is totally a gem!! It's so cheesy- so bad it's good. It was definitely planned- planned to be as bad as possible.
Puzzle design is actually pretty well done compared to other adventure games- some things can be a stretch but this could easily be completable without a guide.
Also, I will always love Halligan. He's INSANE.
