I hope this get patched
This is my favorite series. The games are great. But this port has bugs. An the DLC they are charging an arm and a leg for was ripped out of the previous PC port where it was all included. So while I love this series, I don't love this publisher.

Fantastic ending to a phenomenal series of games. After the last patch it runs amazingly well even on my toaster. Deeply recommended if you've played the Trails series (if you haven't, try Trails in the Sky and be patient with it).

Starting to get convoluted
I like the trails games and felt like Trails of Cold Steel 4 was one of the most epic games I have ever played. However, at this point in time there are simply too many characters for the JRPG style of "everybody has their moment, even the small side characters" writing. It sometimes feels like a huge drag. The core gameplay is still fun and there are actually some nice upgrades to the general fighting system that make it worthwile. They do need to clean up for the next one though if they don't want to dissapear into the hardcore niche in my opinion.

Nice end for the CS and Crossbell arcs
I enjoyed switching between teams and the new characters a lot. The new "area" is great and easy to get addicted to, especially in terms of exploration and rewards. Pros: If you've enjoyed the Cold Steel series, you'll enjoy this one. Make sure you've played the Crossbell arc to fully enjoy the story. LOTs of characters you can use in battle, and the game gives you sufficient opportunities to play with all of them. The minigames and Daydreams are a nice addition too. Cons: The absolute massive number of characters you have to manage (I think 40+). Although the game makes leveling up characters relatively easy, it's still a bit of a PITA. I would've personally preferred to just stick to a smaller roster with characters with higher significance in the plot. tl;dr I got post-game sad after I finished this game. You should definitely play it if you've already played all the other games.

GOATED JRPG.
The legend of heroes easily has the best gameplay when compared to other turn based jrpg's, I recommend this game even if you haven't played the other's. This one will probably make you want to go back to the originals.
