In 1989, one guy ---with a little help on the graphics side --- could produce an entertaining and commercially viable shareware game. You may need SCUMMVM for play under 64 bit Windows: The Nitemare 3D trilogy used DOOM WADs to construct a more or less family-oriented introduction to the first-person shooter.

My Childhood
I haven't played these silly games in years. I bought them because I could never beat them as a child. I remember a lot of what I tried back then. When I play through again I will update my review and tell you how many stars I would expect from someone without my nostalgic background.

Amateurish and childish
Well the games just seem like poor imitations of '80s Sierra text adventures i.e the AGI and SCI games. Inferior in just about every way. David Gray's practice at copying a Sierra text adventure. In my view, not good enough to sell. I think the games seem like children's games in a way, though there is a bit of adultness too. The games were obviously popular. I guess what I found childish and amateurish, other people found cute and funny.

Hugo Trilogy
I am having an absolute nightmare with this. I bought it after checking system requirements which were fine, then its only downloaded the hints booklet but no game. I can't even contact GOG.com because when I attach my system requirements it tells me no file is present so won't contact the support team. In fact this is the only way I can have any kind of interaction with this website and even this probably won't get published meaning somebody has seen it and ignored it. So frustrating.

good game, but
It was a good game, but well nigh impossible to solve without a walkthru. Some of the things were honestly ridiculous. Still, it's LucasArts. And now that GoG is into LucsArts, may we humbly expect DotT and both Indiana Joneses? Especially Atlantis?
