Lots of potential but Unplayable
I really like this game. But the bugs make it unplayable mid game onwards. It corrupts save files and game always crashes. You won't progress properly.

Horrible UI.
While I very much enjoy the atmosphere and concept, I just can't get past the user interface. This is one of, maybe the, worst UI I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. Everything is hidden or way, way too complicated. Example: I wanted to buy perfume for the dirt-covered, fly-swarmed, serf I was hitting on. I can't figure it out. I am not joking. Purchasing goods, a feat doable in every RPG dating back to NetHack and beyond, is complicated here. It won't let me. I put on my old-school RPG hat and decided, "perhaps I have to physically move my avatar nearer the store. I, the player, am not holding the goods -- my avatar is." Now... how do I move? No, really; I can't figure out how to manually move the character. Even just finding out how to flirt took ten minutes. Figuring out how to find the lady again to continue courtship took another ten. I purchased one business, hooray, but can't buy anymore. It says I have the rank to do it. It says I can own up to seven now, but I can't actually buy anymore. No explanation. FAQs suggest I buy a weapon in case I get mugged. How in the world do I do that? Just finding a blacksmith seems to be an epic feat, which I haven't been able to do. Joke's on me, I guess. Stay away..

fun at first, depressing in midgame
Had much fun at first, than some suprising bugs made me stop enyoing the game. The most depressing bug was, that i couldnt install a automated trade with my businesses. trying now an other game...

very buggy
My expectations were high, but I expected a playable game nonetheless. Without some additional mods the game can't be fixed. Some characters are stuck rotating in circles. I can't believe the pathfinding bug was introduced in Renessaince and never fixed. I never encountered this bug in the base game.

Not that good
In this game you can be pretty much anyone, but the overall experience is shallow and unsatisfying. The game is lacking in depth and emergent narrative and all its technical issues make only everything worse.
