The Chronicles of Myrtana Team created something special here. It plays like a love letter to Gothic and good old real RPG's BUT they instead wrote a phd dessertation!!! They took everythings that's good and added some more good stuff on it.
Seriously, these guys actually understand what makes a good RPG where you actually have (unforseen) impact with your choices.
After you have played this game, you will aks yourself why half of todays "RPG's" for 30+ bucks wont even get to half the value CoM: Archolos offers.
This is a proper Gothic 3 we've been wwaiting for so long. Amazing atmosphere, characters, progression, skills, story. I cannot find a weak side of this gem. Highly recommended! Thanks for the people who created this masterpiece!
The mod is incredibly well done. You can feel the love in every square meter of the world, every single quest. The mod surpasses the quality of the original G2 most of the time.
However, it is way too long and has serious pacing issues. At some point, I just want to progress with the story and not give soup to poor people or prove myself to yet another faction. If you think more is always better, this will not be a problem for you.
Quest design sometimes is a little weird, especially with the choices you can make and their consequences. Characters stay pretty flat - this is still more Gothic than Witcher.
I give it 5 stars beacause it is a free fan project. For a proper game, this would be 4 stars. Anyway, a must play if you are a Gothic fan.
