Make your mark in a brutal world where your every decision has a clear impact on its environment and the lives of those you meet on your path.
Play as Marvin, a young man who was driven away from his home by the war looming over the horizon. The reality of the Archolos, a place he runs to, unfortunately proves to be far from his expectations. Rich merchants craving only for more gold, servants of the king Rhobar II who put into practice every new and more restrictive laws and waves of desperate refugees who just like the protagonist search for a decent life. Marvin will have to find a way to survive in this land of treachery, opportunism and opposing interests.
You are not the chosen hero, you are not a villain. You are a survivor.
Will you take everything you want by the force? Or will you try to help others in need?
In The Chronicles of Myrtana you decide your own fate.

The Mod you’re about to enjoy is the work of passionate fans who wanted to share their love in an even more meaningful manner. While every effort has been made to ensure a high-quality, stable experience, the original developers or publishers aren’t responsible for any issues that may occur from using this content.
Everything you've heard about the game is true -- it's amazing. I especially love the new mechanics and the general attention to detail. That said, don't download this expecting this to be 100% Gothic, or you may be a little disappointed. While it uses the same engine and world as the original two games, the Chronicles of Myrtana is quite different thematically. Some of the choices are morally difficult, the story is very personal, and the subjects that are discussed are sometimes quite heavy. At times it feels a bit more like the Witcher than Gothic. Still, it's a lot of fun, so do check it out!
Finished the game with about 85 hours in, i tried to complete everything, but i am sure there is still some more content there, i did not find. After this time i can say that this game is for me now new Gothic game standard. They took everything that make Gothic games great (that means mostly Gothic 2 NOTR) and improved and expanded upon it.
Exploration - Beautiful big island with a lot things to discover. 5/5
Combat - Good old Gothic. :-D 4/5
Story - Quite deep and moving. I did not expect this. 5/5
RPG Elements - Start from nothing. Explore, fight, cook, make weapons hunt bandits and dangerous beasts and more... just wow. 5/5
Graphics - The prettiest Gothic game to date. :-D 5/5 (truly it has lovely charm)
Bugs - Some minor bugs, nothing that would prevent me from finishg quests or the game 5/5.
If you like Gothic you must play this and if not, then you should at least try it. Also please consider supporting the developers for this masterpiece. Thank you.
It's absolutely INSANE that it's just a free mod. Best RPG of the 2021. I haven't been so excited to play a game since years.
Polish version with full voice acting is mindblowing.
Unlike Fallout 2 which never got a proper sequel, Gothic 2 has a real and great prequel to everything that happened in the series. Actually the addon to Gothic 2 should be technical/balance only and the real addon, if not a separate game which it actually is, should be the Archolos. Not only it introduces a great new location and awesome story, but also new mechanics and improved things that were annoying in the previous instances. It's a shame we never got it around time the games were released, but I'm happy now that I can again dwelve into one of the best experiences of my childhood and apparently it's not only nostalgia at work. I really do have a lot of fun even playing the original Gothic (the really bad controls don't bother me at all) and it's still the same with Archolos. 40+h of story, full Polish dubbing with only the greatest voice actors, thousands of lines of dialogues and everything else - it's a shame only we in Poland are able to experience this title at its finest, but nevertheless non-Polish speakers have to check it out too.
