Discover or relive the experience of the original game "The Bluecoats: North and South", in single or two-player mode, with this updated version featuring redesigned gameplay!

Whether you're a rookie or an experienced player of strategy games, you can personalize your experience with a variety of options available to activate.
Discover various episodes in the history of the American Civil War by choosing which year to start in. You can attempt to change the course of history or maintain your positions.

Features:

  • 3 different gameplay modes:
    - Turn-based strategy map: take charge of operations and move your battalions to capture new states, engage the enemy, or strengthen your positions.
    - Real-time battles: get to the heart of the action and directly confront the enemy. Use your infantry, cavalry and artillery to achieve victory. Use the strengths of each corps to crush your opponent.
    - Attack and defend forts and trains in FPS mode. The totally redesigned gameplay puts you in the shoes of the soldier. Defend your positions from the invader or take the initiative by attacking enemy possessions.
  • Full two-player mode.

Great remake!!

I played this game back in PC and it was fun! This new remake that os available in GOG is awesome and the everything is much better!! So much fun!

nastalgia made modern.... ish

This was one of my all time favourite games as a kid, and I have just re-found it but in a much more modern setting. light strategy, with RT battles in both FPS and top down this an absolute gem. classic 2 player mode available too.

Bought, installed, played, removed it.

As the title says, I removed the game from my HD once I finished the game. Took me like an hour or so. The strategic game is a bit boring and repetitive but alright but the controls setup for keyboard in the mini games make them cumbersome to play. You definitely need a game pad. I missed the good old music/sounds from the original game from back in the 80's.

I haven't played it

So I am rating it at 4. Why you may ask I am then reviewing it. There is another game with the same exact name and I am not talking about the 1989 version. There was a remake/reboot of the classic game before this one. In fact when I clicked to leave a review for this game, I was certain it was going to be that other remake. So I was surprised to see a totally different remake. My point is, in case you know that game and you haven't checked the screenshots or video of this one, they are not the same!
