OMG, Yes!
I've been playing this game since it came out in 1985. I've played it on nearly everything, Apple II, IIgs, C64, and Amiga. I've only played this for 30 mins since I'm on lunch, but damn... this is an amazing update! Excellent way to breathe new life into an already amazing series!

I bought on pure rose color memories, with so many hours of 16y me back in 85-86 on an Apple II. So jaded present day me expected it to fail quickly. So, 8 hours later - its better than it aught to be! On current day standards, this is going to be grindy and unforgiving. However I can honestly say, it plays rock solid on Win10 and it has never looked as sharp as this. My conditions to avoid losing stars in the future: 1. Obviously follow through on 2&3. 2. The manual was a treasure to teenage me. I want to see it again. 3. I accidently hit some key that makes the minimap spin around me instead of me turning. I need to know how to undo that asap (as it makes navigation impossible!). Dev's you go a forum anywhere? My advice, if you played this 30 years ago, it will be received fondly. If not, don't even.

Brings back memories
I remember playing Bard's Tale on my Apple IIgs and later on a 386 DOS PC. My brother and I would run home after school to play until we were yelled at to start our homework. It was the game that got me into RPGs and D&D. Glad to see it back and hope it is enjoyed by other generations as well. I just got my GOG key and 2hrs passed by like it was nothing. Time have changed as I played at the same time as my brother while we both chatted over Discord. The game is an excellent remaster so far with my 2hrs of play. You can use the classed WASD keys or a mouse works just as well. The graphics are great. The fonts are legiable and the auto mapping is an excellent edition. No manual is included but I do not believe it is required. In the forums everyone is trying to math out their characters but it is really not required. So far I am having a blast and will be enjoying my time with this game over the next few weeks instead of watching brain dead TV. Nice way to end summer! Highly recommend it.

I am happy to see this series get an remaster and an good one at that. I still have my legacy copies but it is an hassle to get them to run. I believe they had worked out the bugs that was present in the legacy versions. I am comfortable with the price I paid for the series. The interface is a bit outdated but the gameplay is still there and for me no matter how much techology is available today some games from yesteryear has timeless gameplay being back in the day the emphasis on graphics was not stressed because it was in its infancy and audio was king, Good Job Exiles!

It's always hit or miss with re-masters of classic games. In this instance, I can say it's an absolute hit. I'm going to wait until the full Legacy Mode is out (because it ain't Bard's Tale unless I'm mapping!) to fully immerse myself, but the graphics, sound, ambient effects, small details are all just amazing and show a love for the original material. An absolute treasure.
