The year 2087 is upon us — a future where genetic engineering is the norm, the addictive Trance has replaced almost any need for human interaction, and an omnipresent AI named Central powers the city. Its all-seeing CEL police force keeps tabs on everyone, including three people who are about to meet their maker.
*Charlie Regis, an agent of the city’s all-seeing secret police, finds himself blackmailed with the lives of his unborn children. Pushed to the limits by his deceit and his past, how far is he willing to go to save his legacy?
*Latha Sesame, a jobless agoraphobe addicted to the Trance, has become targeted for assassination. Without knowing who to trust, she must face the dangers of “meatspace” and survive a fate that has invisibly ruled her entire life.
*Max Lao, a tech-savvy case officer who joined CEL to forget her criminal past. Now she finds herself torn between two loyalties. When she’s asked to apprehend her best friend and partner, she must choose to follow her friend or the law.
As these three struggle to save themselves, they will soon discover a string of conspiracies that threatens not only their lives, but everything they think they know.

i haven't been playing adventures for a long time and started again with this gem.
really nice story telling that leaves you completely satisfied.
no need for fancy next gen graphics, it is like reading a nice novel. and i loved the sf setting.
looking out for more of this publisher.

- Some puzzles are very straightforward (you simply have a limited amount of options to try)

Simply buy it if you enjoy LucasArt or WadjetEye stuff.
A brilliant and intelligent scenario, a curious but not so utopic future which relates on our contemporary stakes (the net, AI, corporations ruling the world, etc.)
The game lets you play different characters in different periods of time, which can be a bit confusing at the beginning, but emphasize the links between them when the story develops.
A great game for adventure, 8-bits, and point-and-click lovers. Not so difficult, quite easy and linear, but the story is just amazing.
A great PC point-and-click adventure game needs a solid narrative as well as fun, challenging puzzles. My list of great adventure games, therefore, includes classics like 'Day of the Tentacle' and 'The Secret of Monkey Island', plus contemporary gems like the 'Blackwell' series and 'Resonance'. After playing 'Technobabylon', I am happy to add it to this said list.
'Technobabylon' has an intriguing, cyberpunk mystery story. It takes its time to flesh out its characters through dialogues, and reveal the greater machinations at a steady pace. There is a nice variety of puzzles that don't overstay their welcome and become tiresome as the game goes on. In fact, with three playable characters in the game, each with his/her unique skill set, personality, attitude and life experience, even familiar scenarios will feel unique because you will approach them differently depending on which character(s) is/are playable at the moment.
Other aspects of 'Technobabylon' that stand out are the fully realized locales, beautifully drawn backgrounds and character portraits (as expected from Wadjet Eye's Ben Chandler), and the atmospheric synthesized music. All these strengths definitely make 'Technobabylon' one of the strongest titles in Wadjet Eye's catalogue. If you are a fan of adventure games with strong narratives and well-conceived puzzles, this just definitely a game you must play.
