The System Shock remake is the best way to play the PC classic, making it an enjoyable first-person experience for the modern age. However, it still clings to some somewhat outdated mechanics that will frustrate newcomers.

Given its development problems, the fact that System Shock is a functional, stable game is a mini-miracle, but by sticking so rigidly to the original's ancient design it will appeal more to series fans than newcomers.

masterpiece, has a VR mod
Got it 239 years ago on kickstarter. Loved the second game. But could never get into the first one, as it was veeery outdated even back then already. Now with the remake, i realize how tiny and thin ss2 is, compared to the first title. Still, both manage to capture the same unique atmosphere. Btw, with its modern graphics, ss is an absolute blast in VR (modded).

Amazing remaster
10/10 all killer no filler. You need to give it a chance, it's been updated for a modern audience, the controls feels responsive, didn't find any bugs at the moment.
