Really fun game not any thing to hat about it

The game is really fun. As far as I have seen theres not very many games like this which really sucks. Its very fun to slowly and methodically clear rooms and make split second decisions. Controls are a bit funky which im sure could be changed but im playing it as is. Biggest issue being that its such an old game theres a lot of old game jank with it. Also not having modern resolutions and borderless windows is a little rough. Playing with FR mod that gives at least the mordern resolution is good enough but this game needs either a remaster or a new game in the series. I really want more games exactly like this. Id like a progression system. Leveling. More customization. This genre needs more games and hopefully with Ready Or Not being so big we will get more games like this.

despite its age SWAT 4 is still (probably) the best.

This is one of best guesses to get your friend who likes shooters to play with you on GOG. You won't find something like this anywhere else. I am serious. I have known this for 20 years now, time has passed, new attempts to beat this title have failed, if you want an intelligent shooter that you are not supposed to shoot everyone without thinking first, this is the best one I know. On top of that: - Extremely replayable: you will never know who is behind a door or what is happening once you appear on scene for a mission. - Top quality single and multiplayer: several mission modes and custom modes allow you to try different approaches, both cooperative and competitive. - Runs on most of computers today at minimum quality without a hiccup. There are several ways to make it look much better if you wish. - If you ever have a problem, such as resolution, dumb AI or need graphics fixes... It is mostly certain that its many mods already fix it.
