1. Bad animations: melee animations lock the character into vulnerable frames for far too long. No one would ever wield a weapon in the way that this game's protaganist does; dying mid swing is the reason that people who knew how to use melee weapons were hideously fast; their lives depended on it.
2. The main character model is not sexy: if the job of the development team is to make a succubus of hell, it would be ridiculous not to make her look the part; she doesn't. There are many graphics artists who do a much better all over the internet.
3. Too many contextual button sequences: what is this 1990? Quicktime events should have died a decade ago. A complete waste of programming time; simply have the character begin at the start of the level. There is no point in this.
There is a lot more, but I think the point has been made.
Avoid.
I only played the demo on Steam and that was enough for me, since they implanted this game mechanic where your character have to bash a woman's pregnant belly until the baby is crushed to death... Yeah, I know this is "just a game", but you don't usually see games depicting atrocities like this. They should have removed that from the game, or at least make it optional, or replaceable with something else... Beat rapists to death or something, I don't know, but why babies? Sick devs!
So, I wanted to play the game as what is probably intended.
I was met with massive censor pixels, and of course tried to get them gone, so to speak.
Already here problems begin, since the patch needed to even have access to that menu (what? why even is this a thing?????) requires a specific game version, and while the extra section in the GOG launcher does have numerous version patches, for some reason (why does GOG not patch to latest game version automatically????), the game does not tell me what version I have installed, and as such I have absolutely no idea which patch to run, because that matters for some reason that is undoubtedly moronic, and the executable does not follow the same version numbering as the game itself, nor can I find it in any file in the game folders, so I have no way to figure out what game version I have installed, and I will absolutely not try all the patches.
So, I won't get to experience the game at all, and as such, I would give the game (or GOG's handling of the game) 0 stars if possible.
First off;
Story;meh,i've seen better,it is the usual quest for revenge but this time you are a succuby and you are angry because they ripped your wings off,as far as it goes it seems written by a horny teenager who dosn't know what to believe in.Like seriously unlike other games where you get the chance to like the characters this game pushes them away with bad writting,really bad writing.
Unlike others,like;Witcher,Dragon Dogma,Skyrim,the Arkham saga,Divinity and many others but this is not the worst thing of it all,no,not by far,no,there are way worst things deep within this shitfest.
First off,the setting;Now this game suppousedly takes place in Hell but to be honest it looks like a rip-off of Prototype's fleshy atmosphere or Web of Shadows if you like,did i say looks?More like is,the only thing they did was add some porn and naked guys in bone cages .
No...wait...now i remember,Soul Sacrifice,i dunno if any of you guys have played it,amazing game one of the best ones i have ever played in my life,probably the best and i am realizing that this one didn't just rip-off the ones above but this masterpiece as well.
In wich aspects you may ask;first off,enviroment,cages,jails,whatever you wanna call it and honestly i thing little more,but enough for me anyway,really uninspired,really i mean what the Hell?
you got the chance to use hell and the best thing you can came up with is to use the atmosphere of other games and put some porn to sell.Really?Dissapointing,highly uninspired to say the least and shameful,really shameful.
Combat;I really liked it despite it not being anything amazing or otherwordly but rather simplistic,you got a bunch of weapons(highly umbalanced btw you can use the stuff and beat the levels in no time no matter the difficulty),you have enviromental takedowns,gore and little more.
Performance;really good in my dead laptop.
Do i recommend it;No,the moment i bought it i was ashamed of myslef and tried to refund,no luck,honestly stay away from this*
