Stronghold: Warlords

I have the first 2 games in Steam this time I thought to support GOG not a very happy for the higher price but it supports to play it offline. As I had the previous I was happy to purchase the new StrongHold but it lacks the freedom of the previous how you can build your castle, how you can set your skirmish play. Now you can't choose to buid everywhere in the map so the strategy building forward bases is off. Not the best in this kind of strategy game to withdraw availabilities which you had. Also you got the shit timer on for example gather 20 bows, 20 swords, 20 armors and 40 Iron in certain time about 40 minutes with the worst terrain limitations while an enemy is attacking you and you got a neutral warlord. Ok another shitty situation. Warlords although something new you can't build on their territory and it is a poor feature. Maps about 10-12 for skirmish I do believe that they relay on the community to make for them. Graphics as the years progress from the 1st StrongHold graphics don't. Happy to see the Far East territory. So I do recommend to buy the game if you love StrongHold series but preferably on discount for me both StorngHold 4/5 and StrongHold Crusaders 4/5 for different reasons the same rating are better than the new one. p.s. Funny and pissing situation just observe the fires and the people who should take them off are just standing and watching next to the fire ( the game wants to make damage to you lol). Also use saves as few times the game crash.

This game feels like it's just a skin for Stronghold 2, more of the same but with an Asian flair. I actually think they're missing a lot of buildings and resources. The only real change seems to be the Warlord feature that changes the way you buy and use estates on the map. I don't have any reason to play this over Stronghold 2. I don't see them adding much more to it, but if they do and makes the game feel more unique, I'll rebuy it. But as it is, it's not worth the price.

I love playing historical strategy games and I had never played a Stronghold game before, because I was a console player for many years untill I upgraded to a gaming PC. And its games like these that make me not regret moving on to PC games. This game is in my top 10 of all time. I just really enjoy playing it! It is and can be challenging, but you really have to strategize. You have the city building elements of building castles, houses, plantations, weapons factories etc while gathering resources. By tweaking the tax system, the more luxuries you provide your peasants and soliders e.g. multiple food stuffs, nice accomodation, clothes, green tea, places of worship etc, the more tax you can charge and the more gold that will roll in. More gold, better armies and castles. You will be building different types of armies, each with strengths and weaknesses. Not only will you be defending your castles, but you will also seiging enemy castles aswell. In this Stronghold you can control local warlords in the map. You can control them by diplomacy or force, your choice. When and if you can control them they can send you valuable resources, materials or provide military forces to assist you. There are lots of missions to complete, some that lean more towards economic or more towards conflict. The seige weapons are really cool aswell, including: Catapults, Trebuchets, Mortars, Ballistas, Fire Oxen, Siege Towers, Fire Arrow Carts and more. I especially love the gunpowder-based weapons. So guys, stop hesitating and buy this game, its afforable, made by a small British games studio, and if you dont like it, ask GOG for a refund, nothing to lose. Enjoy!

There were some issues at the beginning but after some patches the game looks great. Obviously it is not a typical Stronghold but something new. I've playd a lot with all DLC's and everty time I have fun with it.

Another Good StrongHold Game, But Not As Good As Some Of The Previous StrongHold Games. The Style Of The Game Made It More Difficult To Play. Thanks.
