Stranglehold

John Woo Presents Stranglehold stars martial arts star Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila, a detective in Hong Kong's police force who is traveling the globe in search of his kidnapped daughter.
The game features a single-player story mode in which players take the role of Tequila and fight their way through cities such as Hong Kong and Chicago to locate the missing child who is held captive by mafia members and gangsters.
Players will have the opportunity to earn style points by performing such moves as running up banisters while shooting and when enough points are acquired gamers can execute moves that include the "Tequila Bomb" or enter "Tequila Time." "Tequila Time" is a sequence during a gunfight when enemies are slowed down while players maintain their speed, making it easier to hit enemy targets.

Amazing game with some technical flaws
The game is an all time cult classic of anybody that is a fan of Jon woo, but in order to play the game you have to set the reesolution to 720P than to your desired resolution i.e. 1280x720

One of the greatest shooters ever
The graphics are a bit dated, but if you can forgive that given the age of the game it is the most exciting, fun shooter I have ever played. Others have compared it to Max Payne 2, and I would strongly agree that it is very similar. Lots of slowmo-supported combat, with extra points for stylish kills (given the age of the game, it is amazing how you can interact with various objects found throughout the game world). A good example would be trollies - jump forward with the slowmo-enabling jump button, and land on the trolly and you'll get extra points for every baddy killed while the trolly remains in motion. Fun stuff. would give it even more than five stars if I could.

John Woo in story, Max Payne in gameplay
This game is oozing with action. It makes me want to go to watch John Woo movies all over again. As other reviews mention it, it is Max Payne in terms of gameplay, but not in terms of story. In terms of story, it's a classic 90's Hong Kong action movie. Its simple short plot that gives you that action-movie adrenaline buzz. Cheap as well.
