SteamWorld Dig 2 retains the original's addictive resource-gathering gameplay, but supplements it with a gorgeously detailed, handcrafted world. Its heady mix of exploration, combat, platforming, and puzzle solving, alongside an expansive set of abilities and mods gives it plenty of variety and a great gameplay rhythm. I wish there was more to do once the campaign ends, but that's a testament to the fact that what is here is just about pitch perfect.

Fun, Satisfying, Favorite
I've played through this and the prequel close to a dozen times now, and it never fails to satisfy. Good controls. Great Metroid-style power-ups that gradually unlock the game world. Intuitive, enjoyable mechanics. Not too challenging, just hits the sweet spot for good fun. I wish there were a hundred more games like this, just with slightly different maps or abilities. One of my all-time favorites.

Good follow-up
Enjoyable game. But I felt there should've been a return to the the dark electronic land at the end. Ending was a little unsatisfying- perhaps even abrupt. Thought the story would go a bit deeper. Still, fairly fun.
