good, not great
art, music and lore are good (I love the music). gameplay and tactical depth are pretty shallow. good for kids, hardcore strategy fans could probably skip.

Easy means easy fellas...
NOT 10,000 turn game to lose to ONE opponent. I wish these devs would; A. Develop a reasonable tutorial for their games. B. Make an easy mode that actually MEANS easy... I mean, what the flock do THEY care if I beat it 100 times on "easy mode"? Very disappointed.

Combat seems broken
It doesn't have the depth of Master of Orion or other space sims, but I didn't mind that when building planets and researching tech. However the combat is atrocious. It doesn't make any logical sense. Building your ships works out ok, the designer and tech seems to make sense, but once your in combat it doesn't seem to matter what weapons you have. All the combat appears the same, my ships die just as quickly with stronger armor, and my better weapons seem to have no effect. If this was fixed it would be a decent casual space sim.

It's ok
It's clearly inspired by Master of Orion II. It's also better than the official Master of Orion remake. I'm sure if you're patient you may like this game, but for me I couldn't get over the UI. I just didn't like it and I couldn't hang with the game. The good and bad part is that there's no 'one more turn' addiction that negatively affects school or work. The original MOO II is still better in most ways. Of course YMMV. Still I would only recommend getting this on sale. If you don't mind ruining your life, there is actually a good spiritual successor to the MOO series. Specifically it's Master of Orion III, but done right and it has modern graphics. It's called Stellaris.

This game lacks polish. Its not simple graphics, its amateur in appearance, and it lacks the appeal of the great game it pays homage to. If you want a true MOO 2 experience, buy MOO 2 instead. This game feels incomplete. Ashdar needs to come back, and update it.
