you get to cut grass
great game. it's been about 3 months now and I have poured about 60 hours into this game. besides from the great gameplay however, cutting grass is the greatest part of this game. when u get this game, you'll understand

Not perfect, but extremely good
I wanted to but this game on Nintendo Switch, but ended up playing on PC. This game is a Happy Farmer (or what it is called in your country) type game, but a Happy Farmer of a healthy man. Stardew Valley is a relaxing farmer experience which gives you several activities you can do in the game (gathering, cultivating, fighting monsters in the mines, socializing yourself in the town etc). The game never try to punish you for your mistakes, even if you loose everything you can start again by simply gathering what lies at your feet, sell it and jump into farming again. The game is simple, polished and nice. It looks good (if you like pixel graphics), sounds good and plays good. There is some story, which you can almost completely ignore and just jump to your day-to-day business. Later on, the game gives you an ability to automatize some things, so you can concentrate on something different. The game is time consuming, you have to make lots of grinding (chop woods, water the crops, plant seeds etc). But it is what all farmer games are about. What I did not like: * you can't save except for going to your bed (which is 1-2 minutes away from any location, but still) * the controls are made to play on gamepads (yes, its OK to use a mouse) * to use my dualshock I had to add the game to Steam, cause it was undetectable by the game * maybe something else in the future Everything else is excellent and I really enjoy the game. Just killing some time and wait for my corn to grow.

Lovely
Good to chill with. It's so fun and cheery. The music is beautiful. What's most impressive is that the entire game was made by one person. If you like raising crops and foraging in your games, then I suggest stardew valley to you.

Great game, MANUAL SAVE PLEASE!
This game is amazing. The others have said it, the almost flawless rating speak for themselves. However it has one huge flaw, which is game-breaking for me: there is no manual save. I mean, the game is meant to be played at a leasurly pace, diligently gathering, exploring, making use of the full game day. Ideally a full day lasts about 15-30 minutes (often pausing the game to think, craft, manage the inventory, look at the map, recipes, relationships, etc.). However some of us are on a tighter schedule. I have an infant son and I only get playnig time once he's asleep. Now, if he wakes I have to go almost immediately. It would be great if I could just save, quit and go, putting him and myself to sleep as well. But as there is no manual save, every in-game night there is a struggle. Do I have another 20 minutes? Sometimes I just quit because I'm not sure, wasting much of the precious playing time. Why for heaven's sake should this be an issue in 2016 PC gaming??? The stupides game design I've ever seen. Additionally, if you read about it on steam, there is a bug, when the game just doesn't save, so you sometimes lose full in-game days. This could also be mitigated by quicksave system.
