I was looking for relaxing game and this game has postive reviews, but I am not keen on pixel graphics and farming sims. Also, in my opinion, the game is too complex, to call it "relaxing".
I have played all the Run factory games and Many of the Harvest moon one's as well.
This game is quite similar in that you run your farm and do other activities. But this one is even slower paced than the HM ones. It takes hours to get anything done and nothing is explained.
Overall, I rate it as entertaining as watching paint dry.
I fell in love with Stardew Valley on Mobile.
Unfortunately, though it is the same game, the interface suffers immensely on PC. There is no option that I could for "click-to-move", which is what mobile users will be familiar with.
Additionally, there is no "quicksave" option on Desktop, meaning you can't stop playing mid-day, and pick the game back up later. The only way to save your game is to complete a day by going to sleep. All save games always start at 6 AM.
Sadly, because the mobile version seems to be stuck in limbo, with the developer having moved on to his next project, there is no version of Stardew Valley that is "complete". Mobile lacks version 1.5 support. Desktop lacks quicksave support and "click-to-move" support.
I'm I tried it before I bought it. Not worth spending any more money on, at least until the developer decides to fix some of these glaring failures.
The game looks nice, but it has some serious problems to me. The character is sometimes awkward to control, the interface is archaic (things like missing tooltips or no confirmation popups on important descisions like deleting quests). There is barely any explanation on how to do anything for new players.
And you can't save your game. The game merely makes auto-saves every 30 minutes or so. This is not some technical limitation, but apparently the developer not wanting people to "cheat" by saving the game manually. That's just a deal-breaker for me. This is the first game on gog that I will ever request a refund on.
If none of this bothers you, you might find a decent game still, which is why I give 2 stars instead of 1.
