Unbalanced dungeon crawler

This got me excited because not many dungeon crawler (gridder) exist with sci-fi settings, but my first-hour impressions weren't too great. I did the tutorial and the first quest mission, then I chose a level 1 mission, marked with gray color (cakewalk difficulty, or something like that). I have a team with a cyberninja and a hacker, both are level 3 or 4. What could go wrong? Well, it turns out everything could, and my team was eliminated by 3 guards. I carefully studied what skills I should choose, but it was pointless, because skills have 3-4 turns cooldown, 40-50% of my attacks were missed, and even if hit once, the damage was negligible. Meanwhile, my enemies constantly heal each other, and summoned other enemies, so i faced 5 foes all time. This isn't inherently a bad game, but I have no chance to learn the mechanics and the underlying systems. Now I have no interest either, which is a shame, because I like the settings and otherwise it has potential. Maybe, later I will give it another chance. Maybe.

Anti-climax

So my good friend bought that game even if has has not time to play it but knew i enjoy dungeon crawlers of that style and he knew i will like it. I was very intrigued and happy to play it, something different from the regular fantasy rpgs Sorry for the low rating seemed i was gonna enjoy the game, but i will never know since it crashes always when i finish the 3rd mission. Also not having a quicksave/ quickload feature made it even more frustrating when i tried to troubleshoot beyond that crashing bug,,,, shame i was sure i was gonna enjoy this game

Bugs make the game barely playable

I got Starcrawlers v1.0.3 and as someone who's been hooked on dungeon crawlers since discovering dungeon master on atari ST I was looking forward to play starcrawlers. First I thought the game was missing a library, it did not launch a window at all after 30 secs or so. So I killed it, rebooted and retried a few times, looked for help on the internet, try to guess what library could be missing. Tturns out on a core i5 16GB RAM 500GB top end SSD it takes about a minute or two to open the game window... wow! Game starts, I make my character skipping through the loads of mystery meat navigation required to get an idea of what skills a class has and I jump in with the first class. I get a to select a background story which is nice. Then more mystery meat navigation and I find out that there is a lot of text which I would not mind if the font had been suited for reading which it is not. Instead of burning my eyes I skip the text and start my first mission: the tutorial. After a 30-45 seconds wait for the level to load... yup for real, I get in a room with a door and I'm looking for an obvious button, which is obvious but not clickable. After a while of randomly clicking everywhere the button is activated, and every clickable item will have a misaligned and moving click zone making the game barely playable and most item unusable (see screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/Qm09d ) I eventually finish the tutorial, go through the first real mission unable to pick items and activate most interactive element and fight a boss who will spend 3 turns charging an attack that will do a whooping 6pts of damage to a 388 HP character. Next mission is for level 1 and I have now 2 level 2 characters but they'll be both dead before exploring half the mission due to 90% accuracy attacks missing up to 4 times in a row and enemies all focusing on the same characters fight after fight. This could have been an interesting game if it was not about random guesses of where to click.

Still Flawed, Still FUN!

Someone else here reviewed this accurately as 'Flawed But Fun', so I almost did not review -- but frankly is so much FUN, thought to review myself for this reason. It is also a bit repetitious maybe for hardcore 'dungeon crawlers'. I prefer open-world rpgs these days; haven't been hooked on one of these crawlers for years, like I am addicted to this one lately. Lol. I also like the humor and cartoony look I usually don't find amusing... Buy it on sale, I guess, for some bugs; but no crashes or game-breaking on my set up, Win 10, NV1050, 16gb system memory. Otherwise, other reviews can fill you in, good and bad. If I could get my soldier's rocket I installed to show I battle, I would give a 5; but fine without this, and maybe it will show up later, or maybe I am missing something else I need for it to activate? Lol. In any case, is a fun ride! :-)
