Graphics eh, Gameplay pretty good
So far I've liked the gameplay and the combat is pretty fun. The graphics get the job done but aren't stellar. I do like that there seems to be a lot to discover, so I'm hopeful for what is to come.

Nice game
I played this on linux. It is a great game with nice 8bit graphics and open worlds. I also love the scifi in it.

Really good game
I think this game is really good and fun. If you like games about exploration and space this game if for you. Main story line isn't that long, but with mods you can make it longer. And this game is easy to modify so you can make your own mods very easy.

Fun in its own regard.
I used to hate this game because of its development cycle and how shady the developers are, but years later once I stopped caring about all of that... The end product is pretty fun. It won't blow your socks off, and Terraria does look better in comparison, but it also fills a separate exploration niche. Terraria also took a turn for the worse with developer hubris so Starbound is looking better than ever.

Very Versitile!
This is a very enjoyable game. It's Highly Moddable it have a good storyline a decent tutorial that doesn't drag it's feet like many games do and even gives you a nudge in the right direction without being linear in anyway. The vanilla game is great on it's own no matter what difficulty you choose to play on. Plenty of thing to kill or beat or skin. Very well evolved crafting system, farming system not unlike Stardew Valley. The Ability to make your own home on a planet or homes for others and charge them for it and defend them. All in All it has hours upon hours of enjoyment and even Multiplayer! Worth the price with no remorse. If you wanna wander around exotic places and possibly have a planet outright kill you or make a home out of pieces of fallen foes this is a game for you.
