STAR WARS™: X-Wing Special Edition

These games bring back so many memories, I'm looking forward to playing them again! And again!

Thanks a LOT GOG.....my first born son is due any day (no joke, Oct 27 due date) and you come out with THIS. This is my all time favorite game.....I don't even want to think about how many hours I spent on this game as a child. My most vivid game buying memory is going to the tiny little future shop and grabbing this off the shelf. I haven't played in years, but I remember everything about it. Epic missions, wicked gameplay.....best Star Wars game I ever played hands down. If you've never played it, don't miss out. This was the game I held up all space games to growing up, and no one has been able to knock X-Wing off top spot.

The finest space simulators of all time indeed. Particularly, the iMUSE system on both X-Wing and Tie Fighter (the original versions) created the most exquisitely complex dynamic (MIDI) music ever to grace a videogame. Pretty immersive. There games are truly masterpieces and undoubtedly a labor of love to the Star Wars universe.

Absolutely love seeing this and TIE Fighter again. Unfortunately, the 8-year-old version of me would be frustrated to know that 29-year-old version of me is still stuck on Tour of Duty 1, mission 1. Mon Mothma has given me that dang medal dozens of times, but I exit debriefing and Akbar is still barking about blowing up those same freighters. Maybe someone knows how to release me from my torpedo run purgatory.

I remember as a kid playing this game for hours on end with the keyboard controls and ever so carefully turning over my ball mouse in the neutral position so that it didn't get me stuck in a turn. This IMO is one of the games that made my childhood special... Back on that powermac 95. This is defiantly one I recommend for anyone of any age. The game play is simple, and quite addictive. When I was playing I was so bad at it that I would turn on god mode and sit in one spot waiting for the ties to come to me so I could blow them up. Ahh the memories.
