Insert CD Issue solved
The Problem is a broken filename. - Open the installation folder of the game and search for the launcher shortcut: "Launch Star Wars™ - X-Wing Alliance" - right click on properties - got to destination - change at the end alliance.exe to XWINGALLIANCE.exe - save your changes and game will start correctly via GOG Galaxy

Compatibility Issues
X-Wing Alliance is, in my opinion, THE best Star Wars space sims amongst those made by Lawrence Holland. I wanted this to be released on GOG badly. So here it is finally. Download and Installation are as smooth as always. The game can be configured and started without a sweat. As soon as I enter the flight sim part of the game though, the starfield is all flashing and fading black and redrawn in a mess ... Must be some sort of hardware or software compatibility issue. My system specs: Windows 7 Professional SP1, running on AMD FX 8350 @4.0 GHz, 16 GB DDR3-RAM, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB DDR5-VRAM, OnBoard Realtek 7.1 Dolby Home Theatre. To play the game I use my XBOX 360 USB Controller with Windows 7 x64 Drivers. Does anyone have a clue as to fix this?

Awsome game but traduction missing
Awsome Game. I bought the original version back in 1998 (1999?), lost/broke the CD a few years back. 4/5 because of GoG : Game was originaly released in multi-language (I'm French), including terrific voices acting. Too bad Gog didn't make the effort to ship those language as well. Maybe for a future patch?

Unrivaled Starfighter combat
This is, without a doubt, the best starfighter combat in all of Star Wars. It is also a pretty good space fighter combat sim. It has a good story, with an A plot, and a B plot. There is a sort of Build your own scenario creator within the game, for more fun. The controls require you to pay attention, but are not too troublesome. You begin as a small time shipper, before joining the Alliance. The story flows very well and the difficulty levels flow very well and there are some very memorable missions. If you enjoy any sort of flight game, or Star Wars, I urge you to pick this up! I actually pre-ordered this game back when it very first came out and I still enjoy it to this day.
