Another on the pile; KOTOR 1 and 2 are some of the best Star Wars experiences available. Disney says these aren't canon - well I say their stuff isn't. If you enjoy the format of Bioware RPGs, well - these are the ones that put them on the map for me, and nothing in the Star Wars universe has lived-up since.
This was the game REALLY got me into gaming back in the day. I remember the first time I played this I did nothing else for three days straight! The story is amazing, gameplay engaging, and it's one of those titles that always me saying "just one more quest, then I'll go to bed" over, and over, and over again.
The game runs buttery smooth on my laptop. I had originally played this on Xbox, and so far I like the PC version better. I have an Asus laptop with 8gb of RAM, a core i7 processor, and integrated graphics (Intel 4000 I believe); so far from a gaming computer, but a decent PC. The graphics in the game are showing their age, but they are still good enough to keep the game engaging, and that is probably part of the reason the game runs so well on my laptop.
This is a must have game for RPG, action/adventure, and Star Wars fans. Or just anyone who enjoys gaming at all!
As the title suggests, having played Bioware's Dragon Age Origins first, it is really interesting to see all the ideas and seeds planted in this game that were later expanded on in Bioware's later games. Being a Jedi is fun and story and characters definitely have the charm of a classic Star Wars story. Even as someone who enjoys classic CRPGs I found the game a bit rough around the edges and a bit tricky to get into. Once it gets going however there is fun to be had.
My lower ranking has more to deal with the fact that others in the genre I've simply loved and enjoyed more. I'm glad I've played this classic of gaming history and is definitely worth checking out.
This is one of my favourite games i have ever played, definately in my top 3 games and i played this in 2018.. thats how good it is.
replayability is 10/10 too, just buy it.
This game is amazing because it not only has a great story, complex dialogue choices, and rpg mechanics that keep this game replayable! Sure the graphics have aged but the combat animations work well as a Star Wars game, it has great music, the combat is not that bad when you adjust to it and has some memorable moments and characters.
The only thing I would add is that the game alone doesn't support modern resolutions which makes some parts buggy when turning to fullscreen. But there are mods I found that fixed those issues and the game runs well enough to be enjoyed. I overall encourage everyone who loves Star Wars, RPGs or both to play this!
